Although I came across this site nearly a year ago I still didn't get started. Now I've got my act together and I'm following the 12 week plan and logging my calories. I've taken up aqua aerobics which I love and I'm looking forward to a new me. I'll be 60 in 15 months so I want to be as fit and healthy as I can.

Hello Hidden
Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. It’s great that you’ve joined. You have a good target to aim for your birthday in 15 months 😊
Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread. It's a good idea to check your BMR and target calories as this is often more than you think 😊
Look at the Topics section beneath that, for posts that could answer any questions you may have. Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating. 😊
Join us for the Monday Group weigh-in. If you follow Lowcal and Moreless (our very approachable site Admins), you'll be notified when they post the threads. The latest weigh-in thread can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page. 😊
Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration.😊
Enjoy the forum, and wishing you success with your goals. Good luck! 😊
Welcome to the forum!
Hi Seajay57, I think we have the same start day and both in our 50s. I am totally new here and also about to start the NHS 12 week diet plan. I have clicked to Follow You in case we can help each other over the next 3 months. What do you think?
Hi Siouxie that's a lovely idea. Thanks for the follow.
Same here I've been a member but just haven't got around to starting it. I will be 60 next in 18 months hate the thought. Getting married in a year's time too so want to lose 4 stone and need all the support I can get
Hi yks4 I've followed you so.we can support one another. Congrats on the wedding what a good motivator.
How is it going yks4 and Seajay57?
I could moan a lot because I guess I still haven't got my head around the importance of what we are doing. I still view having to carve out time for exercise as a faff and making myself think about food as a 'sacrifice' which is no good for long-term commitment. However, moaning is the last thing you two would want to read!
About to push myself out on a bike on a grey-day and I remember this:-
"If I think it is hard now, HOW hard would it be when I am so much older if I am not in reasonable shape? If not NOW, then WHEN exactly would I tackle my weight issue which WILL become a problem if I continue to eat/do what I like."
I am also clinging on to a positive result from Monday weigh-in which I'm convinced I can feel although my waist size hasn't changed yet.
