Hi everyone. I've just joined. According to all the weight charts I have 6 stone to lose to be in my healthy weight range which seems such a huge amount, but I'm gonna try my best.
As I'm getting older my body is telling me that I just cant do all the things I used to but I'm sure my weight is playing a big part in it as well.
So here goes for a new me.

Hi when you have a lot to loose then rather than focus on the large total, divide the weight loss into mini targets- say to loose 0.5 stone every 2 months and when you achieve the mini-target then award yourself with a non-food reward. This is what other people on the forum have suggested to others in the same boat as you and it seems to be a good idea to me
Hi rae241, I'm a newbie too and also need to lose 6 stone to get down to a healthy weight. It is a bit daunting and I know I've put dieting off as it all seemed too overwhelming and being obese had become my new reality. Like you I struggle to do things that I could do previously and I know carrying all this extra weight is a major part of this. Following advice from this forum, I have decided to break my goals for weight loss into half stone chunks. So my first goal is to try and shift 7lbs in a month. Wishing you well with your weight loss! 😊
Hi victoria1969, Thank you for suggesting breaking my goals down - it does seem a good idea and a much better goal to aim for. As we are both aiming for the same amount and started together perhaps we can help each other along the way. I hope you do well in your quest too.
