Hello, I've just read through week one of the NHS 12 week weight loss guide. My BMI is unfortunately quite high and I need to lose a lot
I exercise a lot during the week (body combat, piloxing, body pump, pilates and body balance) as well as walking about 5 miles a day, so it shows how much I must be eating for my weight to be so high!
I've had enough of feeling down about how I look and I need to do something about it. Hopefully I'll have enough willpower this time to see this through!

Hi WeffieWoo and welcome to this very friendly forum you have definitely come to the right place for motivation and advice π
You have hit the nail on the head ... You've realised your eating too much for all your fantastic exercise to make a difference π€
They say (somewhere ?!?!) that it's 80% food intake and 20% exercise that contributes to weight loss so follow the nhs12wk plan and eat your correct calorie allowance and you'll have no problems loosing your excess weight. It's not easy and you may struggle to begin with but you will soon adjust and with carefull planning you'll still be eating everything you like but healthier.
Switch to wholemeal, low fat, low sugar and make better choices overall. Count everything that enters your mouth and use an app like myfitnesspal to log all the information (or good old paper and pen!!) π
Good luck with everything and keep us posted with your journey.
Thank you for the great tips. I've downloaded myfitnesspal, so I'm raring to go! This is day one for me, hopefully I'll stick at it for longer than a week this time
This forum looks great, so hopefully it'll be the motivation I need x
This forum got me to achieve my goals so it will help you too π
If you feel like your loosing it or about to give up log on here and read some posts ... or post your own and someone will be there for help and support π
I too need to lose a lot but am in the middle of week 7 and am well on that road - every little quarter pound off is just that 'off' and a baby step nearer to your goal weight - you sound to have a great attitude to exercise (far better than mine lol) if you change your eating habits to match you will be on that downward journey - good luck!
Have you heard the statement muscle weights more than fat. You have the exercise going for you fantastic now comes what others have spoke of healthy eating calories counting. Meaning every drop you put in your mouth if you are serious sounds like the exercise is so you have self control. Log your food even a tab of butter, the weight will reduce and this site is super supportive
