2 stone - 4 months

Hey, it's about four months until Christmas and I'm currently sat on holiday feeling miserable about my appearance. I'm at university and have gained weight since being there. I really want to drop from 12.5 stone to 10.5 before Christmas. I was wondering some key tips on how to do so

Don't be miserable, enjoy your holiday! When you get back download the 12 week plan, read posts on here and the 'newbie' post in the pinned posts section on the right, do a food shop buying lots of fruit, veg and salad and off you go! 2 stone is doable before Christmas but also take your measurements, sometimes the scales stick but you lose inches! Good luck!

-Not limiting your eating so much that it will kick back;

-Eating enough at daytime, so that kickback effect doesn't strike in the evening,

-Keep hydrated, plenty of water and mineral water, google healthy ways to flavour water.

Hi Jay

Don't be down on yourself. That is the worst start to trying to go and live a healthy life that you can do. You need to be positive. Watch positive video's on youtube. Listen to positive speeeches on spotify (I'm sure as a student you have these things). Do some exercise and above all watch what your eating. You know how to lose weight. I am not going to tell you what to eat. Eat less, move more = weight loss. Get a smaller plate. You eat with your eyes and if your plate is full then you will become full by the end too. It really does work. Before going out to buy food, EAT A BIG MEAL, that way you'll not want to stop at the 'stupidity' counter and pick up junk. If you go hungry, you tend to visit the 'stupidity' counter and buy snacks which tend to be high in calories. Even if you get your food delivered, its always a great thing to have a large meal before you order your food. The last think you want when your full is cake and sweets so you tend not to buy it.

One other thing, exercise, exercise, exercise. The biggest burner of fat in the body is muscle so get out there and use them. I don't mean sprints or weights, just good old fashioned walking is a great way to shift extra pounds. You need to go fast enough to where you can hear your breath but you should also be able to hold a full conversation at the same time.

Go on girl, get that 2 stone off by Christmas. You can do it, just start off with a positive attitude. You will have down days, that's when you come on here and seek help and advice but don't ever give up.

Here's a link to my exercise video and why you should go slowly and not fast.....

like that plan too - I am hoping for a stone off by Christmas - I lose very slowly - even though I take the correct dose of thyroxin 😞

In the past I always found exercise really helped, but it has to be something you love doing, so you don't mind keeping it up. The boost it seems to give your metabolism in my opinion really helps. Don't be too hard on yourself and like everyone else says, enjoy your summer! x

This is an old post Supersandwich so the original poster might not reply :)

Have a read on the info on this site phcuk.org/healthy-eating-gu...

Not all calories are equal :) It does go completely against the NHS advice and takes a while to not feel guilty about eating full fat yoghurt but it does work! I have lost 2 stone 3.5lbs doing this and it does not feel like a diet. It is a lifestyle that I can continue for the rest of my life :)

I also recommend 'The Obesity Code' by Dr Fung. A great book that explains a lot.
