Hi and welcome to this very supportive forum
I hope I will see you around the forum 🙂
Have a look at the nhs BMI calculator as this will give you your personal calorie allowance
Choose a weigh in day and join and post your weight there- I am one of the Saturday weighers. You will get loads of support from others which ever day you choose
Also look at the daily diary as this is a great place to see what others are eating and pinching some food ideas
Wishing you all the best on your weight loss journey 🙂

Myself was like you over weight from being married following hubbys diet for 17 years . My eldest daughter is getting married December . I wan to be back too the size 12 when I got married ... started calorie counting in May . Started walking programmes on you tube as well ... now 3mths later , I walk 5 miles a day on these walking programmes with a lovely lady called Leslie Sansone . And .. I’ve lost just under two stone ... and .. dropped two dress sizes ...
aged 68 in two months I’m so proud of myself . My wake up call was my husband having a heart attack in March . Still eating his sweets chocolates while waiting for a by pass !
Good luck with your journey . Hopefully you will take something from my story ...
Hi, I'm a very similar story, I have steadily gained weight over the last few years and have, like you, enjoyed eating and drinking without thinking of the consequences. I am the heaviest I've ever been and will turn forty next year, I need to loose 3 stone to take me out of the obese BMI catogory and I want to do it before my birthday.
Looking at pictures of myself has also spurred me on. I find all the information on here really useful to print off and filling in the food and activity chart has helped me too, along with planning my meals in advance, this makes things a lot easier for me on busy weeks.
Good luck with your weight loss journey, you can do it!
Doing my first weigh-in today after my first week....... nervous
Hi, djsapg , Welcome.
Many of us here find that what works for is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Eating All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:

Intermittent Fasting (IF) also helps with inflammation:
