Motivation Tips

Hi everyone, just found this site, I have a lot of weight to lose about 5 stone, but I have dropped 10.5Ibs over the past 4 weeks. Any one have any good tips for keeping themselves motivated. I always start of very well but then seem to lack motivation and gain it back, and I really don't want to this time.

You can do it, just take it a week at a time and don't think about the whole number you have to lose.  I started last Sept and have lost nearly 6 stone (3 left to go), so it can be done - and you will.

Here is a great post to welcome new people, it is full of hints and tips and motivation:  healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

good luck with your weight-loss journey and just ask if there is anything you want to know :)

Thanks Vickster, it has been 8 months, but luckily I have enjoyed the food and the increasing amounts of things that I can do.

Thank you so much LotToLose what a fantastic job you have done, I'm planning on small goals, my next bracket is getting into the 15 stones another 3Ibs and I will be there. Thank you for the link I will have a look.😄

Wow LessToLose that's amazin! i want your diet :) you must be soooo proud of yourself :)

Hi Hidden the challenges on this site are a great way of keeping motivated and you can always ask for support here. I have a summer dress I want to fit into and that's keeping me going at the moment plus taking the weight off my knee joints. I try to remind myself I want those things more than the food. Hope that's a little help 😉xx

Thank you for your comments, I have a pair of jeans size 16 I would love to get back into them. xx

Tried posting the link to the 'say yes to the dress' challenge but it didn't work but you'll find it under the pinned posts and I think it would be good for you, it makes you focus on those inches you need to lose to fit into those size 16 jeans. My aim is to fit into my old jeans too 😉x

I will look into that post you informed me about, Many thanks, the day I'm back into my jeans my smile will feel this page.🤗xx

I will be smiling for you too 😀x

Sounds like you are doing great! Keep using this support and be realistic. If you have a bad day just put it behind you and don't use it as an excuse for the rest of the week. Focus on small wins and changes and they slowly all add up. I used to talk to myself in the mirror saying I will not give up! (after doing so , so many times before).

What a fantastic weight loss, well done. Thank you for your comments and support. xx

Hi Amber,

I think it helps if you have a goal other than weight loss to keep you motivated like participate in a 10k chairty run or something or for a lot of people on here the couch to 5k challenge is a good motivation and gives you something to aim for other than just weight.

Good luck :)

Hi Hidden you've come to the right place for motivation, just being here is great for morale and the support from everyone is like nothing i've ever experienced. veryone is so lovely and supportive, it's like having your own little cheering squad at your finger tips. They are even positive when you've been a numpty and not done so well. Just joining this group has been one of the best things i have ever done and has really made a difference in how i feel about losing weight and increasing exercise. i've never felt so postive about it before :) I think the bigest think is to enjoy your personal journey otherwise it becomes a chore and therefore BORING and that's when i tend to lose focus, mix it up a bit, change the food you are having and have some fun with it. Good luck :)

in reply toChelleUK

Thank you ChelleUK, I always start of so well and then get fed up, or the weight doesn't come of as quick as I would like, I tend to eat the same foods and as you mentioned it all becomes boring. So like you said I'm going to mix my food about and try differant recipes. xx
