Hi X
How is all have you have had success?
I was going to ask the same thing ! I'm new on here and would love to know how people are being so successful. I did slimming world and lost 2.5 stone, but have put it all back on and feel so ashamed of myself and embarrassed to go back. I would love to know how you all do it. I think you are all so inspiring xx
Hi Lozz84ie (and also hello to Clara33 ),
Welcome to you both! Many of on the Weight Loss NHS forum use the NhS 12 week plan, and we have been successful with that plan. We have lots of posts in the Pinned Posts area too - so have a look there (top right-hand-side of the homepage) and especially read the Welcome Newbie post (that moreless has put together).
I'd like to invite you both to join in the following challenge if you're up for starting the NHS 12 week plan today?
Here's a link to the challenge:
healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Please have a look, and do join in if you're interested.
Good luck with your weight-loss journeys.
Lowcal
p.s. If you like the idea of a Monday group weigh-in, then also look at the link in the Events section (below the Pinned posts).
I lost loads of weight with Slimming World as well and have also put it back on. I am 5 stone heavier than I was at the end of 2014 which I am so embarrassed about. I used to have a really active job but now I work in an office so my activity levels have dropped as well. Hoping this will give me a kick start!
Lowcal has given great advice and all that I would add is that folk on here find their own healthy eating plan, there's no one size fits all. Some still follow the SW plan, others WW plan, some do the low carb high fat one, I just count calories and try to eat healthy food (slip up sometimes), some do the 5:2 plan. There's probably other plans, but they don't spring to mind.
A lot of us use MyFitnessPal, it counts calories for you and you can use it to log in your exercises, it gives stats on how you are doing, etc. Also joining in with the challenges is another great motivator.
At the end of the day, it is a change of eating habits for life. Too many times I have lost weight and then gone back to my old habits and put it back on and more besides. Not this time, this eating plan is for the rest of my life.
Good luck.

I too have been here so many times, need to make life changes this time X
Just wondered how you worked your Kals out? As it seems what I'm following doesn't allow me to loose weight just maintain?
I used the NHS B.M.I. checker. Link below.
nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/Healthyw...
This will give you the amount of cals you should have, taking into account age and exercise level, as well as your BMI.

See that get me 1700-2200 Kals X which is 200 more than I eat now and don't loose? X
That does sound a lot. Do you do loads of exercise, are young and have a lot to lose? I ask because the average amount of calories a man needs per day is 2,500 and a woman 2,000. That's just to maintain. I don't understand why it would tell you to have all those cals to lose weight, it doesn't make sense.
There is another BMI checker you could try
calculator.net/calorie-calc...
This one gives you different amounts of calories, according to how much you want to lose per week. You might want to try that one.

Hi
Thanks so much for helping me X
I'm 32 5'8 16,2 I sit at a desk every day but attempt 40mibs cardio 2-3 a week X
According to the calculator.net site you would need to have 1452 cals per day to lose 2lbs a week. There isn't any hard and fast rule, I guess you may need to try different levels, say one week at 1452 and one at 1600 or 1700 and see which one works best for you.
Good luck

hi am only in my 2nd proper week so still early days am trying to stick to daily calories with if you should check to have right amount of calories as the nhs one is 1400 & they say check too as mine is 1600 but 1800 if exercising at first I tried 1400 really struggled but have found it better on 1600 still have bad day most of us do but have still lost weight as I am exercising 4-5 times a week plus extra dog walking
I also wanted to say I've been doing a dvd T25 it as high & low intensity for beginners its only 25 mins a day over 6 day the 6 day is only stretching and it's different every day so you don't get bored even after the first week I really felt fitter
