Minute weight loss
Hi, the slower it comes off the harder to put back on. Your doing a great job well done.
Wendy
Thank you. How i would love to lose a pound a week. I excersize regularly, stay within my calorie allowance, but i work full time while my husband sits at home and does very little. Probably the stress thats slowing my weight loss down. Plus being the wrong side of 60!
There is no such thing has wrong side of 60, it is just a number. Working full time and keeping house is hard enough but add trying to lose weight and it can add to pressure, is there anyway you could find time to go for a long walk at a fast pace, join a gym (my stress relief), go swimming for example? That will help.
Put on your phone app called myfitnesspal (if your phone can do it) good for cal counts and tracking steps taken. Sometimes if you don't eat enough that can hinder your weightloss.
This forum is good use it.
Good luck
Wendy
Hi Wendy. Thanks for the info. I do use myfitnesspal, great isnt it. I walk quite a lot - 8000 plus steps s say with long walks included. Every sunday i walk to the furthest shop to buy a newspaper, thats a 3.5 mile round trip and takes about an hour. Swimming is my next thought. Have to be careful due to heart attack lastt year, but nothing stoping me
very inspiring -- i was saying much the same thing myself today - except i was saying - if i ever get to the 11s 0r 10s I want to keep it off for ever
More than a little way to go for me- but great post
Good luck and well done.
Your start weight and goal weight are almost exactly like mine ....two years ago I weighed just under 12st ( two stone too heavy) 5ft 5 ) .
It took me almost a year but steadily, slowly over the coming year I did lose it, and last April reached my goal 9st 10 lbs and wore Size 12 for the first time in almost 30 years!
One year on, I have kept within 0-4 lbs of my goal , some weeks up a couple pounds some weeks down but I live a pretty normal life, holidays, drinks with friends etc. I won't say maintenance is easy, you can never go back to all the old ways, but it can be done.
Im nearly 64 and look and feel fitter and better than ten years ago.
You can do this !!!
Thank you Ellibath. You have really inspired me to keep going. I only started piling on the weight about 3 years ago when i changed my job and am now more office based. Also my husband was maade redundant 2 years ago. He doesnt look for work as he now gets his works pension. So i keep going and just need to get back into the good habits i used to have. I am determined as ever and have promised myself i will retire when i get to and stay at my goal weight. I am 62 so hope it diesnt take too long!!
What you describe sounds familiar.
When hubby and I both retired, we gained a few extra pounds at first. However, now we have adjusted to not going out to work every day and have developed a new routine.
We run a small B&B at home at weekends and in the week we have added more activity to our weekday routine, some things together some separately. Eg gardening or walking every day for maybe two hours, or twenty minutes... and we have time to cook more from scratch ( no takeaways) and limit our wine mostly to weekends.
Mostly these habits changed in 2014 when I decided to lose weight, but now are a way of life. An added bonus is my Blood Pressure has gone down and I no longer take any medication whatsoever .
