How easy is it to do the couch to 5k I have bad asthma and never been good at running but debating trying it as it's cheap and free exercise that I'm all about x

Hi Emma, I just graduated just under 5 months back, it took me just over 11 months to graduate so it doesn't really matter if you complete the programme in 9 weeks or longer, it took me that long due to health problems as well as injuries along the way but if you'd like to find out more about it from other people there is a couch to 5k forum on here, I started c25k to help me lose a bit of weight and to gain in fitness as well :)

Take care,

Siobhan x

It's not easy, but if it was everybody would be doing it. It is brilliant though, and well worth the effort. Such a massive high each time you manage another successful run and by the time you graduate you will have developed a healthy habit which will last a lifetime. Go on - give it a go! You won't regret it.

Download the podcasts onto your phone or an ipod. With the app on your phone you can play your own music as well, but it is widely reported to be a bit crap and tends to stop mid way through runs, by all accounts. The podcasts are much better but beware Laura's cheesy music which, by the end of the programme, you will be humming wherever you go as it gets stuck in your head!

The brilliant thing about C25K is that it almost tricks you into becoming a runner. The increments are well designed so that once you have triumphed on one run your body is ready for the next (even if sometimes your brain tells you otherwise). I took 17 weeks to do the 9 week plan, but that's the great thing about it - do it at your own pace and you will get there in the end. It's not a race.

Good luck!
