During all my life, I would maintain my weight, then put on 2 stones as a consequence of any big change in my life (moving countries, changing jobs, etc). After that I would stop putting on weigth but would find it impossible to lose. 2 years ago that happened to me, I was 64kg, then put on 10 kilos to 74 in just 2 months. As I'm now much happier, I've recently managed to start losing weight and I went down to 67.5kg, but I don't seem to be able to lose any more weight and I'm even putting on the weight again. I start the day with good resolutions but at the end of the day I've gone out for a meal in a restaurant and I've forgotten about my plan.
Getting to 62kg (which is at the top of my healthy range) would make me feel great and today I've managed to visualice how good it would feel. So, from today I commit to counting calories, 1000 calories a day untilI get to 62kg, point, this is my highest priority. For this I need to plan meals in advance and count calories in advance too. And I have to sort out the fact that I've got constant visits at home, so I need to be strong not to end up eating what they want.
I know that the post is long! I just thought that it would help me to make my resolutions public!!
Have a nice day everyone! I'm now going fo a run in the beach
Hopefully you're enjoying that run on the beach in the sunshine.
Welcome to the forum, and I'd like to wish you lots of success with your weight loss goals. You sound committed and determined, and I am sure both those qualities will help to see you through. I love the fact you're pre-planning, as that can be a really helpful strategy.
It's a friendly and supportive place on this forum, and great that you've chosen to be part of this community.
The NHS 12 week plan is really good, and offers lots of helpful advice and a good structure, so it would definitely be worth a look - but maybe you've already seen it. I use an app called Myfitnesspal, which really helps with the calorie counting and exercise etc, and you can also look at the various nutrients in your meals to ensure you're achieving the balance you want to acheive.
There's a Monday weigh-in group if you're interested - it's popular and well-attended, and a great group of people, and you would be very welcome to join us, if it appeals to you. I post the Monday weigh-in group thread just before 7am every Monday, and it is entitled "Please Join Us for a Monday Weigh-in Group (current date in brackets)" - so the next one is 21st September.
Thanks a lot for your encoragement and advise! I am indeed very motivated today but I tend to lose my motivation as the days go by and I sort of forget my goal!! I'll definitely join the weight-in on Monday, it will help me remember my project!
Hi Diana, hope you had a good run on the beach...what a wonderful day to be alive and feeling good...well done you for your success thus far and good luck ..
The run was amazing :-). It's unbelievable how we stop doing things that we actually love! (like running along the beach) :-). Thank you for the good wishes!
