hi jade... i jhave 6-7stone to lose. I joined a gym and was going 4-5 times a week and watching my diet and i didnt lose a lb for about 6 weeks but felt better & looked slimmer. ... I then switched to low carb diet and still exercised and lost 5.5lbs in a week !... I then continued to lose up to xmas where my diet & exercise plan has gone to pot a bit and I've gained but know I will easily get it off again once I start eating properly again.
.. but stick with it .. the weight will come off eventually just sometime it's slower for some people !

Hi jade firstly well done to going to the gym. I'm like you have to lose loads of weight i.e. about 10 stone. I had a personal instructor he told me to be consistent with the gym try and go as many times as you can I started off 3 times a week. As from next week I'm gonna go 4/5 times a week . I have only list 11lbs since September slow and study wins the race as they say . I have alot of health problems so difficult to lose weight. Just keep at it. And don't look at it as a diet but a life style change. You will get there. And this site is brilliant for ideas and encouragement. Jand13811
It's great to go to the gym to tone up and get healthier but unless you're doing a massive amount of exercise I don't think it will make a huge difference to your weight. Just check how far you have to walk to burn off the calories from eating an apple. Check your calorie intake. There are so many calorie counting apps you can use.
Hello Jadejd1 Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. I'm glad that you’ve joined. We are a friendly bunch! 😊
First place to look is at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread.😊 there is lots of info here, and links to the nhs12 week plan and also for checking your BMR and target calories 😊 it's important to eat enough so you don't get hungry or feel deprived😊 However, weight loss is more about what you eat than exercise 😕 As you are already exercising it could be a problem of portion size 😕 Have a look at the links and ask if you have any questions 😊
Hi... Firstly Never Give Up.. Keep trying and .. Keep trying to do better each time.
As I see it .. 'Weight Loss' focus usually does not work.
Aim to be active - Walk More - Jog More - Climb Steps More - Dream of Good health
Dream of Fitness - Dream of Energy - Talk Energy - Eat Energy - Push your body and More towards activity instead of focussing on the Weighing Machine.
FOOD - is the major culprit.. rather obsession with food... See where all you can cut down .
Try Mindful Eating - zenhabits.net/what-is-mindf...
It works amazingly well.
EXERCISE - Going to a Gym is not enough. What you do at the gym is more important.. At least you should be doing 40 mins Cardio per day in which your heart rate goes upto 120-140 beats per minute.
On a treadmill it means doing jogging and fast walk between speeds of minimum 6 and max 8.
Try to use 'Myfitnesspal' app to monitor your fitness, activity and diet.. it will give you a balance of daily calories.
Love yourself.. Love Nature.. Love your Food.. Love your Exercise.. Love your body.
All the best
Riyaz
you may be trying harder than you need to, sometimes I feel the more stressed I am about losing the less I lose. Start with a positive out look like I am going to healthier not "I'm on a diet" just got back on everything fatty chocolate cakes etc and try and eat natural foods they naturally have lower calories. I found the gym really restricting and time consuming, try a workout at home it will save you money and I felt I gave it a little more at home as I was less subconscious on how I looked, I* started with 20 minutes cardio and 10 minutes strength a day and resting at weekends. Don't put so much pressure on yourself it will happen
