6 kilos to lose before lockdown exit!

Dear all ,

I am Kay and I am 43. Since beginning of lockdown, I am +3 kg and to be honest since December I have been unable to lose the 2 kilos I took over holiday period.

Because I feel bad in my body and in my mind, I try to challenge myself : let’s try to lose 6 kilos ( 63kilos is my lowest weight since I don’t remember when😉) . I tried the classic method for the last 2 weeks but with no success. That’s why I decided to order a weight loss plan on Pickslim ( I already ordered some of their products last year especially snacks and I was satisfied of the tastes and the result) and I follow workout session on YouTube every morning. I want to be sure that I will stay motivated and won’t crack on that’s why I was thinking that that post could help me . Does anyone try to do it too? If yes’ that would be great to stay connected to ensure we will support each other as I already kn’ow it won’t be easy to stick to the plan being at home all day long !

Hi there!

I have put on 3kg since lockdown too! However I have 10kg to lose in total, to get to my idea of perfect (which also happens to be my 'wedding weight' from 14 years ago). I am 5 feet 11, aged 47 and have gone from 17 stone 4 three years ago to 13 stone 8 this morning. I am actually very pleased with myself but would love a motivation buddy to keep me going.

What are you doing for your daily exercise? Today I plan to go for a long walk with my dog. I live in East Yorrkshire and there are quite a few fields a short walk from where I live. It has been nice, plodding around!

I haven't had a buddy on here before, but if you fancy chatting then that would be great.

Hi Lisa ,thank you so much for your answer. It is amazing as we have a similar story: I lost 3 stones 3 years ago. I have been able to maintain my weight until last december. And I had 4lbs more I have been unable to lose ( lack of motivation, stress, tiredness: certainly a mix of all these reasons) . And since the lockdown : cakes, pasta diner, pizza, FaceTime drinks = +8,8lbs. I decided to stop it but it is a challenge : in between my children, housekeeping, and home office, I can’t say I am performing! That’s why I decided to buy a plan with total food replacement for me. In term of workout , I do follow fitness training on YouTube 45 minutes every morning. I can’t go outside because of immunodeficiency. I had a long walk with my husband last Sunday: it was the first for the last 4 weeks! If we buddy, finger cross it will help to keep motivation! Take care

Morning! So, are you sticking to 'it' today? I am thinking of having the day off since it is VE Day. I am baking scones - has to be done!

I had a great walk yesterday; nearly eight miles. However I struggle to not snack on an evening. My husband and son were watching a rubbish action film together so I caught up on The Great British Menu. Before I knew it I was eating toast and cereal, despite making a lovely avocado salad for tea!

Having to stay in must be difficult. We have reluctant dog walkers in our house so I walk daily with the dog. My son is also very sporting so he drags me out for cycle rides whilst he awaits the start of the rugby season! Do you exercise with your children?

How is the home schooling going? I am lucky that my son is currently Y9 and is very conscientious. He sits at the computer and works independently every morning. However I did enjoy helping himnwith his Romeo and Juliet homework ... and we didn't fall out once!

Have a lovely day. I hopevyou are one of the lucky ones who has fantastic neighbours who are having a street party. Our neighbours are all elderly and whilst polite, are not really ones to mingle!

Hi Lisa, hope you are well! The week end has been non stop! I just take time to sit in the sofa for the first time for the last 3 days! My Girl follow the workout session with me, she is 18 ! The boy is 16 and he is not really interested in fitness😀. This morning with my husband we go for a walk early in the morning , this way we see almost nobody. Regarding school at home, because they are older, they manage it themselves, except some support needed in maths and science, but my husband manage as I am completely lost for their level😊. For the weight loss plan, I try to be careful and stoped alcohol, I will start the Pickslim plan tomorrow. So far I have been able to lose 600g! Let’s see results next week!

Good for you! I have fallen off the wagon this weekend but will be back on it tomorrow.

I have tried to talk my girlfriends into a walking challenge, maybe The Three Peaks. It would be quite a tough one but I like to set myself a goal! Last summer I did a half marathon with my daughter who is currently away at uni. I am a plodder as far as jogging is concerned but figure that completion is a feat in itself.

Well I will let you know how I get on with my healthy choices next week. I am hoping to be allowed to work mid June so I have given myself a month to fix this 'lockdown wobble'! Let me know how youbget on with the meal replacement. X

You may not like to hear this but food replacement doesn't work long term - you've got to change how you eat into a lifestyle. Lots of veg, no junk and low carb would be a start!

Hi cheritorrox. Thank you for your reply. I lost 20 kg 3 years ago and since then, I managed to maintain it with a healthier lifestyle diet, especially the low carb part. Personnally as soon as I increase carbs, my weight goes up. Today I want to use Pickslim products because I am at +6kg, I tried to rebalance my diet, but I really struggle to stay motivated, I do really think that lockdown didn’t help. I am,someone who need results to keep motivation (not sure it is clear) and If I have quick result thanks to Pickslim at the beginning, I hope it will be easier to maintain effort.

Hi Kay,

Are you planning on switching to a healthier diet once the pick slim has ended? It is easy to pile on the pounds in lockdown but, here you are saying enough is enough and doing something about it!

I ditched crisps, sugar, white potatoes and white rice and swapped to healthier choices- sweet potatoes, wholegrain rice, and upped my veg and fruit before lockdown started but my main advice would be, don't get things in that will sabotage your weightloss. When you are working out your shopping list, do it after you have eaten that way you are less tempted to put things on there you know aren't good for your weightloss. I don't drink juices etc but, if you do, swap them for water or better options to help with weight loss.

Also, if you are weighing yourself, don't do it everyday, pick a day and time and stick to it, different times of day make a difference.

It sounds like you have a plan exercise wise so just make sure you have time aside for that. I also aren't going out apart from to drive to the supermarket once a week on Saturday. My son goes in as only one person per family allowed here.

Good luck !

Thanks bee bop for your support. I tried to have healthier diet plan, but it is true that I really let it down since December for multiple reasons, and today I really feel like I need help to see fast results and to be able to find my motivation back. I know it can sound like an excuse but I was like in a spiral.
