I have a lot of weight to lose, about 13 stone. My health is quite poor right now and I am mostly going to do this to enjoy a longer life.
I don't want to get to my death bed any earlier than I have to and when I do get there I don't want to say I spent the last half of my life in a wheel chair, sticking myself with insulin, feeling sorry for myself but doing nothing about it.
Welcome to the group. Really great supportive people on here. Starting with a lot to lose can seem quite daunting. I started with 9st to lose, 18 weeks on ive got around 6st left to lose. It is doable. I found breaking it down into smaller goals makes it more manageable. I never look past the next st to lose. Find what works for you, i count calories i have around 1200-1400cals each day. I started small with the exercise and increased it as i felt i could. Wish you all the best
This will be a long journey for you but it is doable. We are all on the same journey and taking it one step at a time. I have been on the NHS plan for 8 weeks and have lost 26 lbs almost at 2 stone loss and I can't wait. Once I reach the 2 stone mark I want to set my new goal losing 7 lbs and so on... so making smaller goals will get you to the end goal. Don't aim for to much all at once just do it at a steady pace.
Hi! Love yourself & Others. And you will do great! I Wish you only the best for a happy & healthy life! Have fun. Live, love, laugh. Only you hold the key to your unhappiness with Insulin (I don't know anything about it, except it's for Diabetes)- push yourself to do a bit of exercise every day & you will feel better. Good luck! X.

Welcome to our special family, as you can see we are a family of people with lots of experience and advice to cover most problems.
The most important thing to know and remember is we are all here to help and support each other no matter what the problem is and no matter what the situation is.
We have plenty of soap boxes for anyone wishing to stand and shout from the roof tops and put the world to rights, when having a bad day to have a good rant, or a soft friendly shoulder to cry on when you are at your wits end.
Or if you need something explaining after an appointment as we never get the answers we need, there are people on here who can help.
I have been a member about 3 yrs and have been so greatful to alot of lovely members on here as i don't know where i'd be now without them, especially this lat year, probably locked in a room with rubber walls drooling.
I am nearly ready to start loosing weight now my gp has changed my meds and my pain is nearly gone, so i can make a start on loosing the 10 stone ish i'm wanting to loose. I have mobility problems and can't exercise very well, but every pound off is one less to hurt!!
If you would like a rebelious 40 something who wears bright purple wigs and loves gothic clothes, but is drawn to angels ( yes i'm a weird) as a life style buddy (don't do the 'D' word) i would love to be there for you.
Good luck and fingers crossed all goes well on your journey to a new healthier, sexy new you!!!
