soup: hi can i ask if home made soup is... - Weight Loss Support
soup
as ive been told its bad for u i eat a pan full in to days i put in herbel stock water rosemary and fresh veg and potoes anda tin of weight watchers lenil soup just wondering as my weight hasnt budged at all this week
Better without potatoes but with lots of low calorie veg - onions as a base, fry gently in a LITTLE oil, then add whatever veg, water and a stock cube. I made mushroom; sweet potato, roasted peppers (roasted in a tiny bit of spray oil); leek and chicken stock cubes. We had onion and butternut squash soup last night - already diced and very quick to make, just add a chicken stock cube, even my husband loved it the next day.
sure it is if you put all the good stuff in
thanku just wondering if its too much there no fat in at all
i only have 350 grams of my home made soup at a time
is that a lot i make a full pan
i make mine in a presser cooker pan its about half full with the vegs when i put my stock in and that last me all week
Brilliant way of doing it. Keep the vitamins etc.
Home made is good because it doesn't contain loads of salt and MSG and fat (unless YOU put it in) and you control the portion. I've seen several pieces of evidence that if you liquidise it as well, you feel fuller longer.
mine last me all 2 days think im addicted to it
The only way you'll know if its too much is to weigh each ingredient and calculate the total calories in your soup , for example 200g potato , 150g carrot etc etc , then once you know the total for a pan full you can work out how much per portion. To lose weight, most women need to keep to 1400 calories a day, depending on age, height and how much they still have to lose, Soup is definitely far far better for your health than chocolate but, whatever the food, if you eat more calories than your body needs then you'll gain weight. If you want an easy way to calculate your personal body needs and count calories , try the myfitnesspal app. It has been my saviour for 8 months and Ive lost 26 of my 28 pound excess!
Good for... everything - you know what goes in it! Yesterday I bought a packet of onion and butternut squash already diced, just fried in a tablespoon of oil then added water and a chicken stock cube, it was lovely. Even better is home made mushroom soup as they are SO low in calories, I mix several kinds of mushrooms and it tastes gorgeous.
