Hi everyone - I am so excited to tell everyone that I have bought a Soup Maker! Within 25-30 minutes you have you own home made healthy soup! I just made one today. It is Cream of cauliflower- totally healthy using Greek Yoghurt, cauliflower, butterscotch, yellow pepper, onion and 250mls water. I have had some and it is delicious and very filling!!!! X

I bought one last year, used it loads and it contributed really well to my weight loss success. I was fed up of it by March and moved on to salads but have happily embraced soup again this month! Enjoy 🥣

I have one too Bob-74 - recommended by my fishmonger who has lost 6 stone - and I love it. Leek and potato is my favourite and it is the quickest to prepare. Enjoy.👍😊

Yes a friend showed me hers recently and I plan to buy one soon. I do make a lot of soups. I'm glad you like and recommend it.

Yes - I find, as I m certain a lot of peeps do, if you don't prepare food ahead of say a busy day at home or work, its so easy to eat the wrong things or to buy fast food etc. Making soup this way can be done in a morning or the night before! and I had 3 or my 5 a day in one soup! X

Great result.. And brilliant for this time of year...

I find I'm cooking all day as I do it all from scratch so it would really help cut down on pots and pans and my time, although I love cooking.

Me too Jem.In the past we have both shared the cooking .I worked but hubs could not so for 22 years he cooked at night and I did weekends .He had a habit of startIng a stew, for example, with a kilo of meat -and I had a habit of eating it all with him .At weekends I did the real OTT menus . He struggles with calories so cooking from scratch is all on me . I love it -but it is hard .He has just sorted a veggie curry recipe though and it's a godsend .

I do all the cooking but I don't go out to work due to health problems and it does mean I can keep an eye on ingredients and calories although I often end up making different meals for us both as I love trying new recipes and ingredients but he likes the same things again and again. Veggie curry sounds good. Do you make a Welsh stew? There was a nice recipe I was given when I lived in North Wales.

Ingredients

1kg/2lb 3oz neck of lamb (on the bone), preferably Welsh, cut into serving pieces

2 litres/3 pints 10½fl oz lamb stock

225g/8oz potatoes, peeled and chopped

225g/8oz onions, peeled and chopped

225g/8oz leeks, trimmed and sliced into 1cm/½in slices

225g/8oz carrots, peeled and chopped

225g/8oz swede, peeled and chopped

Method

Place the lamb into a large pan and pour over the stock. Bring the liquid to the boil, then reduce the heat until it is simmering and continue to simmer for one hour.

Add the chopped vegetables and continue to cook for a further hour. Remove from the heat, cover and set aside to cool overnight.

When you are ready to serve the stew, return the mixture to the boil and continue to boil for 15 minutes, or until completely heated through.

To serve, divide the cawl equally among four to six serving plates. Serve with crusty bread and Welsh cheese.

Of course -the bread and cheese are usually well avoided by a fatty like me ! 🤣
