Your fate is in your own hands! If you know you will regret eating that pizza then don't do it, and if you do then get back on track tomorrow. Each day is a new start.
Dont be discouraged, your body fluctuates weight every day by a pound or so. Just focus on the positives and how well you've done so far.
Try to plan your days food in advance and then work on sticking to it.
Good Management like a lot of things is key to weight loss. If you are making food choices on the fly so to speak, especially whilst hungry you are more likely to make poor choices and give into temptation.
Ideally know what you are going to be eating at least the day before so that you stay in control and if you can't have full control say because of a social commitment then try to have options ready depending on the situation.
Draw a line under today and move on but try to remember how bad it has made you feel and draw on it next time you feel challenged.
I had this problem too! Finally, I just decided that enough was enough. When you feel like eating junk, just tell yourself that 'this is really unhealthy for me and I will be fat then'. When I'm in the mood for a junky snack, I try to make myself a decorative and attractive fruit bowl to eat. Apples, strawberries, pears, kiwi and lots more. Pour a touch of whip cream and drink a tall glass of milk. When you're done, you will feel so good about yourself. Keep everything in moderation. Even when allowing yourself quality treats, keep their consumption to a minimum. These things all worked for me- I still get chocolate cravings and I still succumb to them sometimes, but when I do, I just say it's ok, just try again. Don't be negative or else you will definitely fail at this.
Hi frankishandy, you may feel better if you just have one nice thing rather than a number of foods which you then feel guilty about..its difficult I'm trying to lose a stone but its not happening. Keep positive.
It's tooooo much carbs! I couldn't eat all that. I'd feel bloated. Where's the protein that you need for tissue growth and repair? No fruit or veg either, no fibre to keep your insides in good working order. All that stodge can sit in your belly and make you feel awful.
And pizza? Well, all pizza is not alike, some are huge, some have a thin base and others a thick base. Also, some people feel the need to have chips with them - not a good idea.
Forget about 'diets' and 'losing weight' and self hate and think about being kind to yourself and living a more healthy and positive life... which looking at what you have eaten and are thinking of eating means you could think in terms of 'eating fruit and veg' rather than 'not eating...whatever' (Pizza doesn't have to be a problem - think Italian so make it thin (make your own dough!) and just a little mozzarella by way of cheese... and share with others... and make your toppings veggie (I am especially fond of beetroot at the moment)
Another handy strategy can be to participate in the Nestlé boycott - it can feels a lot more positive to avoid eating KitKats as an investment in reducing obesity and ill health in countless women and babies in the UK and across the world than avoiding them because it is 'naughty and fat-making' As the Nestlé are the easily available and heavily promoted versions of many products, it does reduce the impulse buying so you only have a chocolate covered wafer when that is actually what you want to have rather than because you are bored or miserable or think you 'deserve' it.
Being wobbly and being overweight are two separate things - I've cracked the latter, still working on the former! But if you do some toning exercises every time you are tempted to eat something you don't *really* want to, you might give yourself a hand with both.
This one IS hard.. ( I would say) - i DO understand the different people who said 'USE how bad you feel' when you slip to prevent yourself doing it again...and i think this CAN work for some.. but remember there is no ' one size fits all' package.. you have to find what works for you!! and given your history ' beating yourself up' and feeling 'bad' about yourself ( to me) doesnt seem a good way to go for you!!!
Instead, why not try and focus on the POSITIVES!! a bowl of pasta.. thats good.. carbs are good for you.. you do need them!! and tomorrow is always another day!! DOnt spend all your time worrying about a ' bad' day or when you ' slip' , instead TRY and focus on how you feel when you have 'good' days !! ( so i think I am with fibronfedup on this one reading their comment)
REMEMBER : if you have 5 ' bad' days and 2 ' good' days in a week.. you are STILL being better than you would have been if you hadn't been thinking about what you eat at all!!
as the ( very old) song goes...
ACCENTUATE the positive... ELIMINATE the negative... !!! ( but be kind to yourself.. remember it takes time!!)
i find batch cooking and planning ahead works for me.. u r always going to feel bigger at night but if u stick to balanced and fresh ingredients u will do better.. have 1 treat day where 1 sugary thing is allowed.. just ideas
