Last Monday I weighed 13 stone 12.2 pounds, and today I weigh 13 stone 13.2 pounds, so I have gained 1 pound this week. I am disappointed to have gained, but at the same time I am not surprised. I had 3 meals out, and chose some calorific options - especially on Valentine's Day (when chocolate ganache cake was just too tempting!!!). I also ate too much bread and butter in another meal - as well as three courses, so I know where my excesses came from.
I didn't do as much exercise over the week either, as I only managed to get to the gym once, and did less daily walks - I think the weather got the better for me, plus feeling a bit fed-up about having eaten more generally. A definite knock-on effect.
So, this week will be hopefully a time to 'get back on track' and repair the damage by getting back to my healthy eating and exercise, so I can see a good weight loss next week.
Please let me know how you have got on this week - and I wish you every success for a good week.

We've had very similar weeks! 1lb on, Valentine's Day meal was more calories than a normal day and at friends yesterday with yummy food. I avoided the alcohol as volunteered to drive home so that would have helped a little.
Oh well, today is another day and as you say time to repair the damage.
Hope you enjoyed your Valentine's meal. Well done for avoiding the alcohol at your meal with friends too, I am sure that would have helped keep the calories down.
Let's hope we have a good week repairing the damage.
Yes but we are just living life and thats how it goes we need to enjoy ourselves too - My beef wellington on the M&S valentines dine was devine as was my Duck at our valentines meal out - and the chunky chips I had at the retirement do............Now back to the grindstone!
pound off this week - now 11 10.75 - so aiming for single figures next week.
I have decided after my long period of not shifting that I will at least try to maintain my weight each week -but i am probably only able to do that because of the amount of exercise i do. But v pleased with my pound lost. Now back at beginning Dec weight- which means since last april I have lost a stone. One more to go.
I am sure you will be back on track next week. good luck
Congratulations on losing your pound this week. That's really great. Hopefully you'll be in 'single figures' next week and best of luck with that goal.
You've lost a whole stone - that's incredible.
Thanks for your encouraging words - I hope to get back on track this week. Hoping for a loss next Monday.
Hiyah ladies, I've not checked in for a while, life is v v busy at the moment. I'm not sure what weight I was last time I checked in, I think it was 11.11 - I'm afraid to say I was 11.13 this morning boo hoo!!! I've been working very long days and have been virtually immobile for weeks now so it's no surprise. It's a phase, so I'm not going to beat myself up over it. My plan is halt the slide...and then start planning a loss when life is back on a more even keel
Really happy to see you! Glad you're ok, although like you say - you are facing a very busy time just now doing all those long hours. Good plan to 'halt the slide' and hopefully life will be on more of an even keel soon so you can enjoy some weight losses.
Hi, beginning last week lost a pound...valentines gained a pound...today lost a pound...been up and down...overall not to bad...eating out so hard to get use too...trying to juggle calories ! Hope you have a good week...
Great that you got rid of that extra pound - it can be 'up and down' a bit sometimes, and Valentine's is definitely a bit of a hurdle! Good luck with juggling those calories, and hope you have a great week.
Hi Lowcal, I too weigh in yesterday and gained a one pound. My weigh has been fluctuating between 10 stone 9 ounces and 10 stone 13 ounces since December 19th. Finally, last week I lost 3 lbs. However, like most people my valentine weekend was very special, my husband cooked and three days of rich delicious meals ended up with a weigh gain of 1 lb. I am cooking again and I look forward to my next weigh in. Not achieving your weigh in goals can be so frustrating but thank God this forum, it has keep me focus, so I keep going. I look forward to reading your post next week. Thanking you for your help, it keeps me going too.
Glad to hear you are keeping on track - quite a few of us seem to have gained a pound this week (due to Valentine excesses) - could have been worse! Lovely that your husband cooked you some nice meals.
I agree, the forum is really helpful in trying to keep on track - everyone is very positive and motivating, which definitely helps when goals don't go quite as planned!
HH you sound and look just like me maybe we are twins separated at birth? I did post some before and after pictures somewhere but I cant see them right now. I have fluctuated between 11 and 10 10 am 10 13 at the moment ....
Hi Prin, my slow weigh loss process can be a downer for me. Because I read this forum regularly, I've come to realise that my body is fighting with itself and if I stay on course I will win. One of us have to blink, my body or my mind, I'm determined not to blink but if do, I'm prepared to start again immediately. This weigh has to go, even though, it is hanging on my stomach, my thighs and hips, it is not welcome and it knows it, the sooner it gives up, the better for the whole of me. Let's keeping holding up each other because in doing so, we move farther along. By the way, when is your birth month?
Thanks for all your kind words last week, the odd pound gain ain't that bad when your still on your journey to ideal weight range.
I am positive today as yesterday I showed a 3lb lost, I had salmon for valentines meal, and tried to eat the right things, got in 100 minutes of dance.
I am now at my lowest weight of last year again, so time for new goals and a slimmer me for 2014. 1 started last February at 14.7lbs, yesterday I was 11.12.
Though the week it felt good as I wore a top that once before didn't fit my arms, my rings fit my fingers again, wow the little things that make a big difference .
This week will be hard, half term and home with a child with chickenpoxs, he had me up last night and my eyes hurt a little now, I have noticed I want to eat more and have less control when I am tried.
Congratulations on your great weight loss this week - 3 pounds is fantastic! Sounds like you chose well for your Valentine's meal - salmon is a great choice. Great that you've noticed some positive changes - you've lost a lot of weight over the year. Well done!
Hope your child feels better soon, and the chicken pox go away. It must be hard when you are sleep deprived.
If the weather is getting the better of you exercising outdoors why don't you have a go at doing it inside. I've been wanting to start the couch to 5k but the weather is so yuck and I don't want to walk/ run in the rain.
So instead I've been using free youtube exercise vids. Leslie Sansone walking videos have been good in particular. This morning I walked a mile without even leaving my lounge!
Yes, you are right - there is always some exercise that can be done inside when the weather isn't good outside. I will have to look at some of those exercise videos you mentioned, and thanks for suggesting them.
Luckily I have been out for a long walk today, so I am feeling good about that - the sun is shining which is a nice change!
Hi Lowcal weight 10 12 and 7/8ths yesterday technically a loss of two ounces so I think I have managed to remain the same focused for the week ahead good luck everyone!
