Hi everyone. I'm back from my holiday and firstly would like to say many thanks to Prin for continuing our Monday weigh-ins. I hope everyone is enjoying the Summer so far. I enjoyed my holiday, and am feeling refreshed and ready to get back to trying to lose my remaining stone in weight.
My last weigh-in was on 23rd June when I was 13 stone 7.2 pounds. Today I weigh 13 stone 9.8 pounds, so I've gained 2.6 pounds. I am really pleased that I haven't gained more. My goal weight longer-term is to be 12 stone 7 pounds, so I have 1 stone and 2.8 pounds left to lose - I am hoping to lose that by the end of the year if possible.
My goals for this week are to get back into regular exercise and healthy eating, and I hope to lose 2 pounds this week.
Good luck to everyone with your goals, and hope you'll join me to share your experiences and weigh-in today. Looking forward to catching up with everyone.

Well done lowcal, that's a good holiday indeed! I only managed 1.25 lbs this week, my lowest loss since starting this journey 8 weeks ago. However, we can all have these plateaus so I'm not too bothered, I've stuck to my calories and exercise plan so just look forward to next week when hopefully I can have reached the 2 stone lost mark! Good luck everyone and well done for persevering.
It's great that you've lost 1.25 pounds - I think that's a healthy loss. Great to hear how well you're doing - best of luck with getting to your 2 stone loss next week - that will be worth celebrating!
Morning. Glad to hear that you enjoyed your holiday lowcal and well done for not gaining much. I have lost a pound this week which I'm pleased with. I have some treats like ice cream and cake so I didn't think I would lose this week. I made it to the gym 4 times last week and I aim to do the same this week. One session already done this morning so 3 to go!
Congratulations on losing a pound this week. Really great. I think it's great that you got to the gym 4 times this week - hope you enjoyed those sessions, and that you achieve your goals for this week. You've already done one gym session today, so you're already achieved 25% of that particular goal.
So my first week was terrible, I had a load of cake and biscuits and such at a party and thought I would gain about 5lbs, to my surprise I lost 1.15 lbs,
I looked at a picture of 1lb of fat and that made me feel so much better about losing it,
My goal this week is to stay on track with my eating and lose 2lbs taking me just about 11 stone
Welcome! Glad you joined us for this Monday weigh-in. It's difficult not to eat too many of the tempting treats available at a party - and it sounds like you have done some positive things this week, as you've lost 1.15 pounds, and that's a great start. Well done.
Good luck with staying on track this week, and hope you have a great week.
Difficult week - still felling unwell so didn't exercise much, but managed to resist all the fattening stuff at three summer events and lost 1 lb. I've now lost a stone & weight in at 13 st 5. Bit disappointed as weight loss has really slowed these last two weeks, but my next goal is to reach a BMI of below 30, weight wise its 13 stone.
Sorry to hear you've been feeling unwell, and hope you feel better soon. You've done really well to resist all the fattening stuff at those Summer events you attended, and many congratulations on losing a pound. That's really good. You've lost a whole stone now, and that's brilliant! Really well done.
Try not to be hard on yourself, as weight does have the tendency to fluctuate and slow down, and healthy weight loss is gradual.
Hope you feel better really soon, and that you have a good week.
That's fantastic, really glad you enjoyed your holiday and you only had a small gain.
I stayed the same this week, still 16st 8lbs. I'm a little frustrated with that as I have been under calorie goal for all except one day and that was less than 30 calories over, however, i have done less exercise this week due to the heat. Hopefully this week will be cooler and I can get back on target
Good luck everyone, wishing you all a successful loss next week.
Don't get too frustrated katedaniels as you didn't gain so well done to you. I can relate to what you are saying as I am just about the same weight as you now after 8 weeks and it's hard going isn't it?. But hey stick with it cos you're worth it. I too have the problem with heat but then I live in Portugal so it's pretty consistent! I tend to exercise first thing in the morning before I open the shutters or later in the evening and just hope that the more I sweat the more calories I'll burn!!! It's tiring but try drinking extra water and you might feel you have a little more "get up and go". Good luck.
Many thanks, I wish I could exercise in the morning, I'm not a morning person and consider just getting out of bed an achievement some days. I've been trying to exercise in the evening but as i've been missing my lunchtime walk I find i'm not getting enough and I miss it, I never thought I would miss exercise! Have just rediscovered my Wii and found I love the boxing, my arms are aching but it feels great, but that's as good as it's been during this heat. Good luck yourself
A little laugh there Kate as I'm the opposite. I actually posted a photo of the sunrise over the river this morning on my fb page, but ready for bed by 10pm! Boxing sounds great fun, but I'm trying to get to grips with a toning band........crikey, can't even get my arms out to the side lol but WILL be working on it!!! Do my 30 mins exercise bike but really need to do strength which I have NEVER done before. Think I was just meant to be a delicate little butterfly!
I'm sure you'll be back to losing weight again next week. Sometimes it takes a while to see the results of your efforts, and it can take a while to show on the scales.
It's definitely harder to exercise in the heat - but hopefully you can enjoy some sessions doing something you enjoy.
Congratulations on losing 2 pounds, that's really great. Especially reaching your first half stone of loss - brilliant! Hope you are having a good day and that you have another great week ahead.
Hi LowCal, Glad to know you enjoyed your holiday and also my thanks to Prin who kept us all together while you were away. Have not had a very good week this week and have regained last week‘s loss
I am back to 10st 13lb 2oz. I think I shall have to go back to weighing portions to make sure I'm beng accurate with the calorie counting. I will also try to walk more on the days I don't go to the gym. Loking forward to a better result next week.
I hope you also enjoyed your holiday - I remember you were going away just before I did. Sorry to hear you've not had as good a week as you'd hoped this week, but at least you've not gained beyond last week's loss. Portions can sometimes get the better of us, and weighing your portion sizes can definitely be helpful. I always weigh my breakfast cereal.
Good luck with this week and hope you enjoy those extra walks.
Hi there. I feel quite pleased this week as I lost another 2 pounds taking my total to 1 stone 4 now. Got some more exercise in last week but this week am slightly scuppered as have got an ear infection so can't go swimming which I usually do. May need to go for a lounchtime walk instead. Well done to everyone else who lost this week. Let's all keep up the good work!
Congratulations on losing another 2 pounds, and getting your weight loss to 1 stone 4 pounds. That's really great. Sorry to hear you've got an ear infection though - I hope it clears up soon. Hope you're getting good treatment for it.
Enjoy your lunch-time walks, and have another great week.
Hi lowcal. Welcome back. Brilliant to have a holiday and only have a minor gain! My weigh in this week sees me with a 0.8lb loss so small but as I've now lost 8.8lb in 3 weeks I'm happy! Best wishes to all for next week. I'm aiming for 1lb next week. Keep it slow and it will go!
Thank you. Congratulations to you for your weight loss this week and for the past three weeks - you're doing really well. I like your rhyme 'keep it slow and it will go' - very good!
Welcome back! Thanks Prin for holding this weekly thread together! This week I lost 1.5 pounds. This is week 10 already for me. So far I lost 1 stone and 1.4 pounds. Feeling very happy about that!
Congratulations on losing 1.5 pounds this week - you are doing really well. Amazing to hear that it's week 10 for you already - the time flies by doesn't it? Hope you're having another good week.
Welcome back Lowcal, 'twas a pleasure to hold the reigns for you, I am impressed with that minuscule weight gain well done! (I put more than that on in a week!) today I am 10 11 and a half so I have lost half of my 3lb gain, goals for this week,
Hi Lowcal, good to see you again. Well done with not gaining too much while also enjoying your holiday - great stuff.
I put on a whopping 4lbs in the last week, oh dear. For some reason my eating has gone haywire recently. I'm blaming half marathon training which is making me think that I can get away with eating any amount (which I clearly can't).
Let's see how we get on this week - good luck all.
How is your Marathon training going? I'm sure that must be quite challenging. Hopefully you'll soon lose that 4 pounds and you'll lose it soon.
Wishing you a good week.
Lowcal
Hi,
I didnt weigh in last week as my son married a couple of days before - there was no way I wasnt going to enjoy that day (and a few before and after). Then This Monday I couldnt weigh in as a dental appointment clashed with my WW meet. THEN, I spent a couple of hours in casualty with my hubby (and all I could think of (other than hubby's injury) was the crisps and choc vending machine in the corner of the waiting room! Argh!). But I was good. Managed to finally weigh-in yesterday at another meeting where my weight was unchanged from last weigh-in. Quite pleased actually. Good luck everyone this week.
Lovely that your son got married, and hope you enjoyed the celebrations. So sorry to hear that your husband has had to go to casualty since, and hope he is recuperating well after his injury. You've done well not to gain any weight in those circumstances, so well done!
Hi I' m joining! This is what I need! I am female( despite the user name!( took lots of tries before I found an acceptable one) 64 years old, 5'8" tall. I go swimming every weekday and have an allotment to dig. I also like cycling but probably don't do enough! I am hoping for support and inspiration from this site!
A warm welcome to you. Really glad you've joined us. We weigh-in every Monday, and we'll look forward to seeing you there. Hope you are having a good week so far.
Great that you go swimming every weekday, that's great exercise. Also digging your allotment too - really great. Must be good to produce your own produce in your allotment.
All the best for your weight loss journey. Hope it's a good one.
