Last Monday I weighed 14 stone 0.8 pounds (having gained 3 pounds from a weekend away), so this week I was keen to get rid of that weight and get back on track. Today I weigh 13 stone 11.0 pounds, so I am pleased to report that I've lost 3.8 pounds. Phew!!! What a relief!!! It was difficult at first to get back to my normal routine, as I was still craving more sugary foods, but gradually I got there, and I think I'm eating healthier foods again (overall) and have been enjoying regular walks - I managed to walk on 6 out of 7 days. Not managed to get to the gym, so I am hoping to go at least once this week - maybe twice!
I have accepted a challenge (kindly suggested by Prin) to do an exercise class before 31st March - so I am also going to check out the aerobic and cardio type classes and plan when I am going to do that! Seems a bit daunting as I've not been to a class for a few years! (Message to Prin - hope your half Marathon run yesterday went well - I thought of you!!).
Hope you have all had a good week. Please do join me and share your experiences.

Great week Lowcal, well done! I hope you get to your class this week or next, as I have a free Monday today I am heading off to Zumba express (a half hour Zumba dance) followed by Zumba toning, and spin this evening? Weight this week 10 12, have a good week folks! as for yesterday ...... Really pleased with my times considering until October hadn't even run to the end of my street!
Wow! A half marathon - amazing! Congratulations. I managed a 5k run with a bit of a walk after a big hill!! I love that we're all at different stages of our journey but all really supportive of each other :o)
Congratulations on your Running Times and positions - really great! I'm amazed that you're able to do all those Zumba classes today - and spinning too!!! How do you do that? I think I would be aching after all that running yesterday! You are amazing!
It's Monday again...already....you didn't give me much time to lose any weight! :o)
This morning I weighed myself and the scales said 12st 2 then ended on 12st 3lbs. I think this is mighty unfair but alas I have lost 1lb since last week. I had hoped for more but it's still a loss and I will hopefully continue in that general direction.
I have decided to try the 5:2 diet to see if that helps me. I know a lot of people on here seem to swear by it so it seems worth a try. I had one day last week where I ate 500 calories (by complete fluke as I was just so busy at work) but it seemed to give me more energy and I felt lighter and happy to go for a walk with the dog etc - I didn't run on that day - so I thought "well why not". Wish me luck as i'm already dreading it - what if it falls on one of my 'hungry' days??! Well, I'll give it a go! Hope to come back with further losses next week! xx
It's great that you lost a pound this week - well done! I know you had hoped for more, but seriously, a pound is very respectable and also a very healthy weight loss - between 1 and 2 pounds a week is considered a good pace.
Good luck with trying the 5:2 diet. Have you decided which days to fast on? I have done that diet before, but must admit that I found it too difficult to keep to longer term, so I don't currently do it anymore. I tried it for just over a month, and I did lose weight on it, and to be fair it was quite do-able. But I didn't like feeling so hungry on the fasting days, and that was why I didn't keep it up.
You might find it easier, and like you say, there are several people on this site who do it and think it's really good. You mentioned that you did a 500 calorie day by accident last week and that you felt more energetic - so maybe you will feel the same this week when you plan to fast.
Best of luck with it, in anycase, and let's hope we all can report further losses next week.
Thanks, I'm not too upset with a pound loss, better than putting it back on I guess!
I know what you mean about being hungry, it's one thing distracting yourself for a short while but all day is another matter. I'm certainly hoping that I feel the benefits of eating less or like you I might only last a short while. Just thought it was worth a try. I think I'll do Tuesday's and Thursday's as I seem to be busier at work those days at the moment. Hoping this will help distract me from my rumbling belly!
Good luck for today's fast, and hope you don't get too hungry. Just think that you can enjoy a more normal day again tomorrow! Hope it goes really well.
Thanks Lowcal! How lovely of you to remember. So far so good, I have breakfast planned for just before my meeting at 10 so hoping that sees me through til late afternoon. Feeling positive so far! :o) Happy Tuesday! Hope you have a great day.
We'll done on losing what you'd gained and then some! Awesome too Prin - I can run 5k but nothing like you've done - and a good time too!
I've lost another half kilo ( just over a pound) this week, so now 73.3kg. Want to get into the 72s but am away with a long weekend down to see the family so expect it will be a struggle!
So aiming for a good few days before I go. Did get to the gym last week too - now got my programme set up, so now just have to go and do it!
Congratulations on losing another half kilo - that's really great. Well done for getting to the gym last week too - hope you get to do your programme this week in the days leading up to your long weekend with family.
Well done all of you with weight loss and running. My weight has been static since I started c25k 8 weeks ago.I know I am eating more so am cracking down this week. Hope to graduate next week.
Well done Prin. After c25k graduation I start Marathon training. Callanish Stones 2nd August. No way will I run the 26 and not forgetting the 0.2 miles but I hope to alternate walking with jogging.
It's great to hear that you are hoping to graduate next week - that sounds exciting, and all the best to achieve that. Wow, you are planning to run a Marathon on 2nd August - that's really big! Your plan to alternate walking with jogging sounds good.
I enjoy running occasionally, and sometimes run 5k on a treadmill, or go for a 40 minute run outside. I've not done that for a couple of weeks, so maybe I need to think about getting back to it! I know how good it feels to accomplish a good run. I did a typo just now, and wrote 'treatmill' instead of 'treadmill' - then I was thinking that I must have 'treats' on my mind, so I must distract myself - but maybe it was purely a typo!!!
Prin that is a really good time! I do want to try for a half marathon this year, but I am not so brave as you and still haven't signed up to an event.
I had a weekend away with friends, so I didn't weigh in Monday. This morning the scale said 62.4kg, slightly down on last Monday which is good considering I thought I might gain this week instead of lose Have a good week everyone!
Well done for losing some weight, despite being away for the weekend with friends. I think that's really good going, and I hope you enjoyed your weekend.
