Good morning! I hope you've all had a good week. I think I had a reasonably good week, in terms of keeping up my exercise (regular walks), and not over-indulging on too many Christmas temptations.
Today I weigh 14 stone 3.4 pounds. Last week, I was 14 stone 1.6 pounds, so I've gained 1.8 pounds this week. But I am also on my period, so I think some of that weight gain might be due to that.
I am intending to weigh-in next Monday, so will be intrigued to see how much damage is done by Christmas itself, but I'm hoping that I won't gain too much. My plan is to continue to eat sensibly, but allow myself to enjoy Christmas Day and Boxing Day without worrying.
Hope you all have an enjoyable Christmas.
Please do join me today and let me know how you've got on with your weekly weigh-in.

Merry Christmas! Sounds like you have it all under-control.
I'm still adopting the more active strategy to combat the additional festive load, I've run for an hour everyday for the past 7 days and done at least one hour of additional cardio, on a couple of days I've done 4 hours! If anything at least I'll remain fit after the event.
I've also managed to stay wheat free by baking and cooking everything from scratch, including the usual Crimbo treats like Mince Pies and the Xmas Pudding!
well done to you for keeping at it - I think I am deploying the same sort of strategy- I have banned anyone from buying me chocolate - and at this moment in time I am feeling determined not to overdo it. I have also weather checked when I can run. I aim to get out four days this week - including boxing day.
That's great that you are staying active and doing all that running and cardio. Lots of baking too! I'm sure your mince pies and Xmas Pudding will be delicious, being homemade.
well - rather surprisingly I am 11stone 10.5 pounds - that is a pound off since last week. I have not been especially disciplined - but I have have concentrated on not eating stuff because it is there. I have also run a bit.
I think I will count this as reaching my xmas goal - what is really lovely is people are starting to notice - not so much 'have you lost weight'.. But my hair looking good, clothes fitting well - bought some skinny jeans last week.
Good for you to remain positive and yes I intend to enjoy my xmas - and hope just to stay the same for next monday.
Ha ha - very funny - My husband is 11stone 9 pounds - and I am threatening to catch him up - which is of course the right order of things given my height. At least another stone to go ....
Well done on losing a pound! That's fantastic. You've reached your Christmas goal - that's really great. Skinny jeans as well - I'm sure you look great too.
Hi Lowcal, I'm still 11.8 bang on!! I think we've both ended up weighing-in pretty neutral following our 2lb challenge. Well neutral is better than on the rise Sounds like you've got a good strategy for over Christmas. I've shelved the cycling in this bad weather so I will have to watch my intake a little more closely. What brand of scales do you use? Your weigh-ins are always so accurate. My scales are Salter, they weren't cheap but they do bounce around a lot and I still end up doing a best of three. I could actually end up doing 'best of ten' they're so random at times!! I keep them in the same spot on the floor and don't move them etc - it's a mystery!! Enjoy your Christmas everyone, best wishes Supasister
Well done for staying neutral over this last couple of weeks - I do agree that is a success in itself, as it's so easy to put weight on at this time of year. I just checked my scales, and they are also made by Salter. So I'm not sure why yours vary so much - it is a mystery like you say!
Evenining all, mixed results for us this wwk I have managed to gain 2.5 lbs this week so weighing in at 10.12 this morning, still on a positive note I have two new additions to my wardrobe this week, both size 10
Wishing you all a very merry Xmas and let's hope it's not too calorific!
Wow, you've got two new size 10 additions to your wardrobe - that's fantastic. I am a size 16, but I feel good about that as I used to be a size 18 previously.
I too have put on a couple of pounds this week. Extra meals out and with gales most days too difficult to stand up outside let alone walk or run. Also should be doing outside stuff barrowing gravel but again too windy.
At least I know the reasons and will get back on track. Chocolates are safe in this house as I have some for visitors but don't eat them myself. a large friend the other day had made some oaty biscuits and when I refused as saying I had calories counted for the day her response was 'are you still doing that'. I tried to explain it was a lifechange but she didn't seem to understand. Hey ho Having cheese in at the moment is a big risk though
But at least cheese is a filling and satisfying food, so just a tiny bit goes a long way to keep you feeling satisfied. Do you find that?
Yes, the gales and bad weather are horrific - hope you are keeping warm rather than outside barrowing gravel! Well done on your resolve to explain to your friend about counting your calories - life changes are for life - not just for Christmas!
Yes you are right about cheese as opposed to chocolate I think. Might try a short walk with the dog later but need to see how badit is first. I like 'not just for Christmas phrase'! Happy Christmas to you too.
Yes, it's difficult to lose at the moment with all these Christmas distractions! Thanks for joining us, and I wish you a good week and a Happy Christmas!
I will be posting the next Monday group weigh-in on 4th January, and it will be posted before 7am, so you can either look out for it - it will have the same title as this post, but with the current date in brackets.
Alternatively you can click 'follow' and my name (Lowcal) and you'll be automatically notified when I post it.
But it should be very easy to find, as it is used by so many people and will be trending throughout the day in the newsfeed.
Looking forward to having you with us, and a warm welcome!
Unfortunately no weight loss this week. On the positive side I have not gained weight either.
Entirely my own fault as I hit my usual 3 week in period where I go off track. This not a new circumstance as this has been a recurring problem with dieting over 4 decades.
Only myself can rectify this, so I am going to double my efforts next week and try to reach 17 st. By next Monday. That hopefully will be a loss of 2.2lbs.
My wife is getting a bit impatient as I promised to take her out for a nice meal when I reach 17 st..
Just to let you know that I've copied and pasted your info into the Monday weigh-in post for today (23rd October 2017) - you posted it in an old thread, which is dated 23rd December 2013, and I wanted to make sure you get some replies!!!
So here is the current thread for today (23rd October 2017), and I've tagged you there - so you can see where your post is - hope that's ok!
