Last Monday I was 14 stone 1.8 pounds, and this Monday I am 14 stone 1.0 pounds - so lost just over half a pound. Didn't achieve my goal of getting below 14 stone, but at least I've lost some weight!!!
I hope everyone has had a good week, and hope that some of you will join me for a weigh-in today - the group support is invaluable, and I hope you all have a successful week and achieve your goals.
Good luck!!!

I was 14 stone 11.5lb last week, and the week before, but today I am 14 stone 10lb Very happy that I actually lost something this week so feeling very positive.
Well done you are getting towards your goal. I seem to have hit a standstill however little I eat I am stuck on 10stone 12lbs.
On the nhs website it says a woman should eat 1400 calories to lose weight i only seem to get 1250. Does anyone know if you eat too fewer calories will it affect your weight loss.
I have lost a stone in the last year but it seems very slow going but nothing in the last month
Your metabolism could have slowed slightly to compensate for the fewer calories. Calorie counting can be difficult particularly when cooking your own food.
I find for me the only way to shift the weight is to calorie count and exercise. I am a C25K graduate.
You actually don't lose tons of weight, I've lost about a stone in 7 months- see below, but you do build muscle which we know is heavier than the flab!
Stick with it, I am sure you will lose weight eventually, and well done on the stone you've already lost. Hitting a standstill can feel disheartening, but think about the fact that you've not gained weight, and have therefore maintained your weight loss. Hopefully it will lessen soon - hang in there!
My husband and I weighed ourselves yesterday. Decided to go to boots and do it officially. Good job too as I am half a stone heavier than I thought I was! (darn those cheapo scales!!)
I weighed in at 12st 1lb a bit gutted. But just goes to show me that my starting weight last year before I started my Nhs journey must have been way over 13 stone.
We are planning to do an official weigh in once a month, using the dodgy scales, for an approximation, once a week. Good luck to you all.
The best of luck with your goals - and nice that your husband is alongside you - you will hopefully be able to give each other lots of support and keep each other on track.
Well if you are anything like me I take off everything at home, not so easy to do in Boots! You know it doesn't matter if your scales give a different figure as long as they can record losses (or gains!)
Don't be too hard on yourself, I know how difficult it is to lose these last few pounds. Your still doing really well and should be really proud of yourself.
Keep going Lowcal I am rooting for you next week for sure for under 14 ! I was 11.5 and a half today so under five pounds to go! ( tried ion a 12 jacket in Sainsbury's, too big (thank you body pump) 10 fits a treat so I will get it when they have their 25% off at bank holiday!)
Thanks for your encouragement, and I am also thrilled to hear you've done so well this week. Especially that you are looking forward to buying that size 10 on the Bank Holiday. Not long now!!!
Have a great week.
Lowcal
On Sunday I was 14 stone 13 lbs starting to get back on track after losing my way for the last couple of weeks (too much red wine)
Well done Lowcal, you're still moving in the right direction that is the main thing.
I forgot to weigh myself yesterday but this morning I'm still 12st 6lb same weight as before my holiday at my last weigh-in which was two weeks ago so I'm happy with that.
I've just had to look back over the posts to find when I joined the website - which was 27/05/13 - which means I've lost two pounds in 11 weeks. Pretty atrocious compared to the weight losses on this forum over the same period and not what I had planned (I was aiming to be 11 stone by next week!!). However a couple of things I've learned so far...
I haven't been sticking to 1500 calories a day - no surprise - or to be fair haven't really been making a big effort to as initially wanted to focus on being less sedentary.
I'm now cycling about 50 miles a week and feel amazingly better for it.
More conscious of the food I'm eating and therefore eating a better diet.
I've started to reconnect with feeling 'hungry' and 'satisfied' but at times still eat too much to feeling 'FULL'.
My new commitments going forward are...
Stop eating when satisfied and will therefore eat less and fewer calories.
Keep up the 50 miles a week (above all else people keep telling me how my skin looks great which I attribute to the cycling).
Need to sort out my sweet tooth! My 3pm sugar hit has crept back in. How does everyone else deal with the dreaded mid-afternoon lull?
Firstly, thanks for your encouraging words, which are much appreciated.
It was interesting reading your comments, and seeing all the positives that you've noticed during your time here on the website. Wow, cycling 50 miles a week is amazing, and great to hear you've noticed a difference in your skin - very positive. A healthier diet is such a great thing, and I'm sure your body will improve inside as well as outside.
I usually try to deal with the dreaded mid-afternoon lull by having a 'healthy snack' - something like some almonds and some yoghurt, or a piece of fruit, or just having a refreshing glass of water, as it can be that you're thirsty rather than hungry?
Good luck with this week, and hope you have a great week.
Hi how's Ss2? glad you are regrouped and refocused, for the afternoon try sula butterscotch 31 cal, snack a jack caramel53 cal or ww fromage frais 53 cal has fruit purée in the bottom, sugar free jelly 15 cal you can always have the jelly with any of the above, good luck!
Hi Lowcal, I'm a bit late for the weigh-in, but I've just seen your post and the replies, and they're all so encouraging I am in week 2 of the NHS plan and have lost 3lbs and an inch from my waist... Having said that, I'm still the wrong side of 14 stones (And as I'm nearly 50 and about 5ft 4, that's not good!). I don't drink, don't really like chocolate, but am more-or-less addicted to cheese (could it be the casein?). Does anyone know if the cabbage soup diet (or similar) is worth trying? I've seen varied reactions to it online.
Congratulations on your weight loss so far. 3lbs and an inch from your waist is a great change. Personally, I wouldn't recommend the cabbage soup diet - I know that soup is a good choice to make as part of a balanced healthy diet, as it is more satisfying, and can contain some very good things - lovely range of possible types of soup. But I suspect that purely eating cabbage soup would be very restrictive, boring, and not a balanced diet. But at the same time, I've never actually tried that diet, so I'm not speaking from experience.
Hope you are having a good week.
Best of luck with everything. You're making good progress so far. I don't think there are any quick fixes, but slow and steady weight loss, following a healthy balanced eating plan, with exercise, is sure to produce some results.
I did the cabbage soup diet many many years ago. Yes, I lost a lot of weight, very quickly, but it all went back on just as quickly when I started to eat normally. I would not recommend it. I remember feeling hungry on it, making all the soup was time consuming and well, you can imagine - lots of cabbage going in ........ not fun!
I completely agree with Lowcal, having tried lots of things in the past, there is no quick fix and the best thing is a healthy balanced eating plan with exercise - slow and steady weight loss. Make sure you enjoy what you eat, find yourself some low calorie treats and appreciate the changes in your body as you become healthier.
