So, this week I have lost just 0.4 pounds, but at least it is a loss!!! I was doing well for most of the week - managing to stick to regular exercise and eating within my calorie limit - until the weekend, when I decided to make some cakes, and indulged a little too much. That lead on to a craving for Fish and Chips, and I succumbed. Hence, I have not achieved my goal to lose a pound, but at least I've not gained weight.
I am determined to 'get back on track' again this week, and hope to lose a pound.
I hope everyone has had a good week, and hope that you will join me today for this Monday weigh-in.
Best wishes,
Lowcal

Keep going! I was 11st 12 and a half pounds just, my first time under 12 stone in around 25 years! Since my height was recalculated I have 12 pounds to go at my old height it would have been just 2lb - oh well onward and downward, good luck everyone. I had a bit of a blow out last week so would be happy not to gain this week
Hope you enjoyed your tea, if I fancy a fish and chips I make the oven wedges from slimming world book, never done the diet bur love the cook book! And have a breaded chunky cod fillet from marks and spencer with some mushy peas, remember to fixate on your little treat for going sub 14, what's it going to be?
well done on weight loss - that is just about half a pound of butter - so a good loss despite your excellent but calorie laden weekend.
Weekends are my downfall - but I am getting better at managing them. My proper wiegh in day is friday - but I always do a monday weigh in to assess the damage and plan what I need to do lose the weekend indulgence and actually lose some weight as well.
So this morning - despite going out for a three course luuch friday, out sat night, big breakfast sunday and a gorgeous lobster supper last night.....ta dah -I have lost half a pound - hooray hooray.
so my goal for this week is to shed off 1 and half pounds and tip in under 12 stone. i will let you know friday!
Mmmm.....Lobster! And it's healthy An Indian last Friday (with wine ) and Father's Day meal at my mums Sunday not a good week. As luck would have it we should have been going out for an Italian Tuesday but the couple have asked to reschedule ........
Hi Lowcal! Congratulations on your weight loss. It is stillless than you weighed last week. I have a little tip for indulging in home made cakes as I have a weakness for this also. try making your portion sizes in a fairy cake tray instead. I see it as still having a cake a whole one it maybe but in a controlled portion size. Best tip even after one fairy cake tell youself that you have eaten a whole cake and that is you limit for the day......lol! Helps for me. Good luck!
Suzybenj - well done on your weight loss, despite all those lovely meals you described over the weekend. I am sure that weekends will be 'challenging times' for the majority of people. Good luck with your goal for this week.
Helcat - thanks for that tip re: fairy cake tray size cakes - I acutally baked muffins, which were far too big!!! I will try out your suggestion the next time I am tempted to bake.
My downfall was also going out for a Father's Day meal. I had walked for an hour in the morning, only drunk a black coffee (ie no cake or biscuit) when we stopped for coffee - and then had a wonderful meal. What a shock when I added up the calories though. No weight lost this week but at least none put on, so well done for still losing.
I hope you enjoyed that Father's Day meal - there are often 'occasions' that end up distracting us from our goals, but at least you didn't put any weight on. Hopefully you'll lose this week, and I wish you every success with your goals.
I just noticed that you asked what treat I might have for getting below 14 stone - I'll have to think about that! I can't believe that it will actually happen, as I've 'hovered' around this weight before, and never actually made it below, but this year I am hoping to finally do it, with the support of the great people on this site and with the greater sense of 'resolve' I feel as a result of that support.
Hi Lowcal and everyone - I'm almost a week late adding my comments for the weigh-in but I did weigh myself on Monday 17th...and I'm....12st 8lb - still!! Three weeks in and still the same weight!! And I cycled about 50 miles last week. I'm still feeling positive though, the cycling is definitely giving me the appearance of looking trimmer so I'm sure it will pay off in the long run.
I've switched from food focus to my fitness pal as i'm finding it easier to use. I'm also ditching the idea of "net calories"...i.e. i'm not going to input my exercise into the calculation and seriously start to focus on calorie intake.
