I’m currently under gynaecology for possible PCOS, how long roughly did it take people for the diagnosis, what tests did you have to confirm the diagnosis and what support is out there for women with PCOS?

From my first symptoms to diagnosis- about two years. But once they start investigating it can be quite quick, as it’s normally done by bloods and ultrasound. I’ve been diagnosed twice; once at 16 after my periods stopped for two years and then again at 18 when I moved to uni and couldn’t get my pill prescription because the GP didn’t believe I had it and it wasn’t on my records. Both times was a blood test and ultrasound (at the time it was external ultrasound but now it’s done as a trans vaginal ultrasound).

For me treatment and support has been next to zero, I know I have PCOS, it explains my symptoms but that’s all I’ve really had out of my diagnosis. It may be different for you though, as my GP surgery isn’t great.

Hi dear, The success rate for PCOS treatment in Ukraine is extremely high. They give the recent advances in medical technology and surgeon experience. However, with any surgery, there is always the possibility of complications, such as infection, bleeding, numbness, swelling, and scar tissue. But if you rest post-op and follow the surgeon's recovery advice, you can expect to reduce these odds close to zero. I Just thought I’d give you some hope! Metformin was and still is my miracle drug...it allowed me to ovulate and therefore get pregnant twice and now I have regular periods! The doctors can’t explain why I need it but are now happy to keep me on it as it seems to work! I did originally have it alongside Clomid (Clomid on its own did nothing for me) so if the metformin doesn’t work for you you could try the two together X
