my daughter has PCOS, not me, but she’s the same. Well, she’s 20yo and has been on the Pill since 2018 and she’s only ever had like a day or two of light bleeding each month, or even at all. She doesn’t mind this of course, but I worry because I don’t think it’s healthy. She does get major cramping and depressed moods a week or so prior though. Poor girl.
Oh so she does have bleeding every month, it’s just sparse?
I get literally nothing at all. Ever. Which is what worries me.
I don’t suffer with cramps or depression but I do have horribly low blood pressure and hypoglycaemic episodes that worsen when I stop the contraceptive pill.🤔
Well, some months there’s nothing and other months there’s spotting. I very rarely have to buy tampons for her. And she says she doesn’t bleed enough from them. I’m pretty sure the bleeding is important and a must to shed that lining, but her GP doesn’t ask about it or seem to be bothered when we mention it 🤔
I wonder if her blood pressure drops at this time too. We haven’t made the correlation. But isn’t it strange for this to happen if you’re not bleeding? I use to bleed heavily and would notice shaking and whatnot from that.
Look up symptoms of low blood pressure and get a home monitor to check.
My low blood pressure and hypoglycaemia are not related to my cycle, they happen randomly…even half way through eating a meal. It’s bizarre because I don’t think hypo tension/glycaemia are common in PCOS, usually it’s the opposite!
Does your daughter struggle w managing her weight and insulin resistance?
hey, jumping on this thread - I have PCOS and have always had periods, but irregular up until May last year when I was prescribed Metformin for my insulin resistance. I can tell you more about that? I saw you mentioned it above.
I now have regular periods and have lost 2st as my insulin resistance is reversed thanks to the Metformin!
