Dieting and exercise but not loosing weight!

I’m really struggling! I am following slimming world but limiting the carbs. Also I am exercising at least 4 hours a week (combination of walking on my lunch breaks, a couple of circuit classes and I started couch to 5k) I cannot loose weight. It’s taken me 10 weeks to loose 7lbs. I am fed up. I’m sick of people telling me well at least you maintained your weight or a small loss is still a loss. For the amount of effort I’m putting in I deserve to be loosing more weight. I’ve a VLCD in the past but I was miserable, and I don’t want to go back to that. I was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago. And In February I had lap to remove a large dermoid cyst and endo. I was not told anything about what they found- I’ve asked for help and I was prescribed the pill. I came off the pill a few weeks ago as I don’t want hormones in my body. I wasn’t loosing weight whilst on it so I was hoping coming off it would help. It’s too early to see if that was a factor. They say the way to help PCOS is to loose weight but I cannot try anymore!!!!! I’m at a loss! I’m getting married in May and I’ve been trying to loose weight desperately. I’ve also been told if I stop thinking about it I’ll loose weight? Has anyone got any tips? Or any help? I’m going back to the doctors on Friday as I have been sent for blood tests to check my thyroid.

mmmm I don't think diet and exercise works with pcos lol - I tend to diet and lose the weight and then exercise. I think we go into storage mode really easily so if you are not quite eating enough we just store the fat, so would be great in a famine and would be the only fertile ladies around - yey shame no famine !! Also long exercise routines are not good for us, its better to do weights and more gentle exercise.

If you are on Facebook look at the PCOS Diet Support & 30 Day Challenge as I lost 4.5lb on my first week (no exercise) and now almost end of week 4 and lost another 4lb and feel hugely slimmer around my gut). Her website (smartfertility or something), is very interesting as it explains why we should avoid diary (which I found really interesting as dairy causes inflammation and inflammation makes the pcos symptoms worse and I happened to have a diabetes test a month or so before that was fine but showed up an inflammation marker so I have cut out diary (violife cheese is actually pretty good) and actually I feel pretty good, so may ladies have got pregnant and reduced their symptoms massively. She also talks about the right sought of exercise too - extremely interesting study done.
