I’ve been checking the Scottish Covid vaccines appointment online system for some days, hoping a 3rd vaccine appointment would show up there before I’m contacted. There wasn’t a new appointment at 6.15pm tonight but I just checked again and I have one, for just over a week’s time, in Dundee city centre. Fabbo! I guess a letter or phone call will follow. Will be my 3rd primary vaccine dose because I’m severely immunosuppressed.
For fellow Scots you can check your Covid vaccine appointment record at vacs.nhs.scot/ If you haven't used the system before use the recover username option to recover your username (you'll need to enter some ID, including a previous Covid vaccine date) and set up a password. Some people are finding they are getting appointments set up on there before they are contacted by phone or letter. So it is worth checking. Phew! I have been checking my appointments record for some days, since a fellow Scot gave me the lead to it. My health board didn't use the central booking system before, but my old appointments were in there. So I kept looking! I’ve also shared this with other patients tonight and already in the last few minutes 3 fellow Scots have found appointments they didn’t know they had,
A big relief of having my 3rd primary vaccine date fixed is I know it will be a month before my already booked flu vaccine. I’m likely to flare again after Covid vaccine 3 (I have a very aggressive auto immune disease that goes off very easily). But a month later gives me the best chance + is good for vaccine response.

I managed to locate the local email contact for Covid vaccines in NHS Tayside where I live, so dropped them an email query last night. Those severely immunosuppressed folk who're finding new vaccine appointments online often have them coded in an unclear way, so it isn't totally apparent it's our 3rd vaccines, though it probably is. And we still haven't had letters etc. yet.
Anyway just heard back from NHS Tayside Covid vaccine email. They have confirmed just now that my co booking vaccine appointment online for next Wednesday _is_ for my 3rd primary vaccine. But letters may be slow. As they say:
"Severely Immunosuppressed patients are being offered 3rd dose of Covid Vaccine. The third dose may help to improve immune response to the vaccine and give better protection against coronavirus.
A letter will be sent out from the national team but I think they are slightly delayed and may only arrive a day or so before the appointment."
So yay again! And thank goodness I found the appointment online, so we know about it, and can schedule. I have shared this info with other fellow shielders who have appointments noted under various different ways. Hopefully it may reassure them too.
After I ask this question I won't be surprised if my letter turns up nicely today 😜
