Vasculitis Treatment 2

Hello, tomorrow I have my 2nd vasculitis treatment (high-dose steroids plus rituximab) and just wondering if there is much difference between the 1st and 2nd treatment in terms of reactions and side effects? Grateful for any feedback, thank you.

Hi Atimlin,

I’ve now had 4 Rituximab treatments and did not experience any different reactions or side effects. The only thing that you might find is that if you had no issues with the 1st infusion they might slightly speed up the rate of infusion for your 2nd infusion. My rate was marginally increased which reduced the overall infusion time by about 1/2 hour.

I hope all goes well for you.

Regards

I had no issues with the second treatment. It has made such a positive difference to me so I hope it does you too. 👍

Hi Atamilin _1 had 7 infusions about to go for my eighth it’s a bit quicker these days taking about 2.5-3 hours as opposed to 4.5-5 same old side effects, tiredness and fatigue after about 48 hours for a week then feel like crap after about 12 weeks for a couple of weeks then all good. Good luck. Nick.

hi Atimlin! In two days I will have my 8th and final infusion of Rituximab. I say final because my doctor said that we now wait and see if I stay in remission. It has taken 2 years. The whole process was easy for me with no side effects. I have Microscopic Polyangiitis , MPA. I am so grateful for this drug!
