Covid booster

Hi, just saying, I had the Covid booster on Monday ,on Tuesday I was extremely ill , Temperature of 38.6 ,tremors on and of all day , face swollen ,hearing totally gone , very cold but burning inside ,and nauseous ( but no rash ) all my Vasculitis symptoms, as well as the Covid booster affects ,violent headache ,aches all over and cold symptoms, So I took the decision to take my Vasculitis treatment ,that I have on continued repeat with my GP for when required , and am pleased to say it appears to be checking my symptoms .

I had a lesser effect the last booster I had ,at that time I took my prescribed Vasculitis treatment as I felt it wasn’t just Covid side affects I was having , I later spoke with my Consultant at Addenbrookes and it was confirmed that I had done the right thing, So after this episode and deciding the side affects were beyond the advised ones , I’m again taking my prescribed Vasculitis treatment and VERY pleased to say it is again working although it will of course need time.

I consider I am lucky that for me this works ,as generally over the last few years I have been in remission,

I thought this may be of some help for someone .

I am very pleased to hear that you have obtained an improvement with your vasculitis meds.

I took have urticarial vasculitis syndrome and wonder what treatment it is that you have taken that helps?

You are lucky to be under Addenbrookes Hospital and I hope this horrible flare passes soon.

Yes big help. I had mine yesterday lunchtime at was Moderna, I was ok until about 9pm when I got really tired, went to bed and woke at 1am to go to the loo and had a bit of a fever and a headache. Couple of paracetamols and straight back to sleep. Woke this morning a bit drained but right as rain. The Moderna seems to act differently to the Pfizer for me. Nick

I have just had Moderna and 12 hours later I was very unwell with headache muscle pains and shivers. Paracetamol worked and ok again in 24 hrs. I’ve not had this reaction before

Really sorry to hear this Jack! I had a ' relapse in 2022 & always suspected it could be vaccine related but in this world of needing to know, I just Don't! Glad you're recovering & thankyou for letting us know. What was your booster called?

It was Moderna ,I’ve still got the tremors intermittently now , but of course it doesn’t affect everyone the same,

just for information all. For those of you like me that your household contact is not eligible for Covid vaccines at the minute, like my wife who is only 54, when I had my jab yesterday they told me a lot depends on the current amount of “take up” as they may offer it to some more groups i.e over 60, Household Contacts etc but whatever it will be available in Autumn. I had a look to see if I could pay for my wife a jab because there are 150 Pharmacies nationally offering the service for Novavax £45-55 and Pfizer £65-85 but it’s a round trip of 120 miles for us living in the Dales, we are going to evaluate it further. Nick.

Our local pharmacy said it’s going to provide private vaccines in a week or two!! £85 I think. Annoying as I’m only having it to protect my partner .

Glad you are on the mend after your vaccine, it’s strange how everyone reacts differently. My OH usually has the next day in bed but recovers quickly next day.

Hi yogarita1955, I chose to have the vaccines because my Consultant agreed it and it’s my way of thinking “it’s not all about me” if I can protect other high risk groups by only say 1% I will do it. I am a bit old fashioned like that.

I’ve had Covid jabs in the past, I’m on Retuximab infusions also. I’ve been advised to have it about a month before infusion due. I think it’s not as effective when on Retuximab.

I had Moderna and the only side effect I had was the usual painful arm. Pleased to hear you’re feeling better.

I.m wondering , as there seems to be other named Covid vaccines available why the people doing the jabs don’t let it generally known which vaccine they are using ( as it appears they don’t all use the same, perhaps there’s a cost involved !! ) that at least gives us the option , if we are aware we react to one type . Just a thought.

It's a good thought, come to think of it I think I had 3 pfizers & an a moderna vaccine. Pfizer was alright but After the moderna vax I ended up in hospital for 4 nights in 2022! I have cns vasculitis

When I had mine at Boots chemist this week they said they were only being supplied Moderna . But , people were queuing downstairs to pay for booster and apparently you could pick . Maybe Moderna cheaper ?

was it Moderna vaccine? Your description is just like the symptoms I had from Moderna booster (but not from any of the others) …. Hoping for Pfizer this time 🤞🤞

Everyone on here should do there own due diligence, and research into the risks and dangers of taking these relatively new mRNA technology injections.

A good place to start is the governments MHRA Yellow card scheme, this is a register where deaths and injuries from the vaccines are recorded.

Should vasc. People not get COVID jabs free.or is there an age limit.

jackrussell profile image
jackrussell in reply toAllonby

As I understand it, people in general if they are immune suppressed ,can get the Covid jab free but would need some sort of proof ,I don’t know how that would need to be provided ,but I do think there is the option,

I would think someone amongst us would know the details .
