For any fellow Scots due an autumn/winter vaccine it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the Scottish appointments website vacs.nhs.scot My autumn/winter vaccines appointment has showed up there but I haven’t had any email this time and haven’t got my letter yet. My husband has been given an appointment at the same time for his. He’s prioritised as my unpaid carer and because he lives with severely immunosuppressed me. So yup, keep an eye out! Sadly I have 3 month long devastating neurological flares after every Covid vaccine (my cerebral vasculitis reacts badly). This will be my 6th Covid vaccine. But it could save my life, and I know from private testing that I am finally generating good antibodies. My vaccine is booked for late October and I plan to get both Covid and flu at the same time this year. Because I know I’m now generating good Covid antibodies, and if I’m going to flare I might as well get them both over at once! Again this information applies to Scotland only where vaccine booking etc is different from eg England etc.

As an observation the Scottish rollout of Covid vaccines to the severely immunosuppressed this time around is some weeks behind England. But I’m just personally relieved to have an appointment now, and my husband too. And given how devastatingly awful my post vaccine flares are I’m happy to have a month of fun beforehand!
Hi vivdunstan. Curiously my wife had a look on the NHS England website for Autumn Booster and was surprised to see the statement “do you live with someone who is Immunosuppressed, and obviously she does I.e me. And she was able to book in. She is only 52!
We got our blue Scottish vaccine letters in the post today, a week after our appointments showed up online in the Scottish Covid vaccines website. Reminder: Scots are not to book themselves in at the moment, but wait to be sent out an appointment. But giving folks a heads up that your appointment may show up online a week or so before you get the blue letter. I am so glad to have my blue letter in hand. Last time for the Spring booster I and many other patients in Tayside didn't get ours, but luckily I did find out I had a vaccine from the website. But then I didn't have the letter to show. Which since I was getting a vaccine only given then normally to over 75s but I'm much much younger than that caused some *discussion* with the nurse on the day.
The web site says you should here by the end of October. I spoke to NHS Scotland yesterday, as my wife had received her date in November - she is not immune supressed but falls in age category. They are going to review my case as I explained I am likely to have another Rituximab infusion in December and the consultant like a month's gap between vaccine and infusion. Hopefully I will get a date soon.
