Hello I went to the doctors as I wasn't feeling well feeling very low, headaches every morning, tired, dizzy spells ec ect quite a lot of the symptoms listed, had blood test results back this week and been told my thyroid levels are low and am anemic, been told to take vitamins especially b vitamins, have to have another blood test in 3 month. I have been taking my temperature in the mornings and have a temp of 36.5 and lowest 35.6 .
What I wanted to know was should I go back to my doctors and ask to be treated for low thyroid or wait for three month till the next blood test ?
I am a little bit worried of waiting since my auntie had thyroid problems and now has angina and she thinks it was through waiting to long to be treated.
Thanx Tracy

What you should do is get a copy of your blood test results from the surgery. They must have the ranges too (figures in brackets) and post here for someone to comment. Get a copy each time you have blood tests for your own records.
Sometimes GP's ask you to come back for another blood test, just to make sure it's not a 'one off'. If you have symptoms, I personally think he should have given you some thyroid gland medication, levothyroxine.
If you buy Vitamin B12 it has to methylcobalamin B12 as that is the one that works better. You can get sublingual ones or ordinary ones. I get mine from Amazon as the local Health Shop doesn't stock them. This is a link if you wish to use it and Thyroiduk.org get a very small commision.
You will have to read as much as possible so that you know what is going on. A thyroid gland which isn't working properly affects you whole body so you can have quite a few symptoms.
Many do well on levothyroxine (also known as T4) but some don't.
Hello thanx for replying I have rung my doctors up and have to ring back Monday morning to speak to my doctor as he is off today, so hopefully will have more info on Monday, it was only our doctors nurse who did the blood test I haven't actually seen the doctor, I just went to her as it was quicker than waiting for a doctors appointment.
If you go into your doctors surgery and ask for a printout of your blood results then you can post them on here, with ranges in brackets and you can get some advice.
Hi Tracey, the best thing you can do is go and see the doctor on Monday and get him to run through the results with you.Im surprised the surgery didn't actually ask you to come in and see the GP with anemia showing up on the results as this could be causing all your problems. However thyroid issues and low iron tend to run hand in hand with a lot of people.
Been back to the nurse this morning for more blood test as I am feeling worse, my last results were low TSH 0.012, t3 t4 borderline, I have been doing my the temperature test every morning and been 35.7 so not sure what this means, she has told me to take some b12 vitamins I get results back for my other blood test on friday so will ask for exact levels.
