T3 dosing tips alongside supplements

Hi there everyone,

Just wondering if you could clear something up for me. Just a bit of background. I started T3 (Thybon) 10th March 2.5mg am/pm, then 1st April 5mg am and 2.5mg pm and as of 22nd April, I started 5mg am and 5mg pm. So 3 week increments before upping doses. The idea is to get myself up to 20mcg. I also take 125mcg of levo.

I know I can’t take levo within 40mins of coffee or within 4hrs from vitamins, but does the same apply to Thybon? If so, can anyone tell me when they take their 2nd dose of thybon in conjunction with vitimins? I was told to take my second Thybon dose after lunch but I take so many vitamins at lunch and at dinner so I’ve been taking my Thybon at around 4/5pm and not after lunch. Does anyone know if this makes any difference of when the second dose is taken? Any tips on taking a levo/Thybon combo alongside vitimins would be very helpful. My issue is that there does t seem to be a time in my day that is 4hrs away from supplements.

I take ferrous fumerate (empty stomach) mid morning

Omega3 lunch

B12 drops lunch

Vit d drops lunch

Zinc lunch

Digestive enzymes twice a day lunch and dinner

Burbarine twice a day lunch and dinner

NAC twice a day at lunch and dinner

myoinositol empty stomach

Magnesium glycinate 2hrs before bed

Coq10 with glutathione powder at lunch

if /when you get up to T3 at 3 doses per day …..aim for roughly every 8 hours

On 2 doses ….2nd dose 10 hours after first is about perfect

Thanks so much. So I’ve not been aware of dosing Thybon 3 times a day?? Is that normally necessary? My endo wants to get me up to 20mg but I haven’t had bloods as yet.

Lots of members take T3 three times per day ….waking, mid afternoon and bedtime

Some members find once on final dose they might be fine taking just twice a day

Some people find just once a day is ok

It’s all trial and error

Personally I split as 5mcg x 4 doses per day ……I can’t tolerate just twice a day…… I found 3 doses the mid afternoon dose clashes with tea and cake (gluten free/dairy free) ….

I find it more convenient instead to take 6am (alarm and go back to sleep), 11.30am, 5.30pm and bedtime

thanks! So must it be about 5-6hrs apart? Can I ask what you do if you want to go to bed early? Just for my future reference :)

Personally I almost always go to bed around 11pm

But if exhausted….still take it as go to bed even if it’s 9pm

Times aren’t “set in stone “

The charts at the bottom of this article:

thyroidpatients.ca/2020/07/... have always been accurate for me personally as to when I want the supposed benefit from my t3 hit.

I’m currently on 112 Levo and 7.5 t3…. Having recently reduced from 10 t3 where I originally started.

The only other thing in your post that caught my eye is … I’m guessing you have a good reason for wanting to get to 20 and so quickly?

For me personally I was prescribed 10 daily without knowing any better, wish I hadn’t been, and it took me a while to eventually reduce from 10 to 7.5 - which eliminated palpitations I’d had throughout and now I feel way more peaceful and calm!
