Hi there! I'd love to test all my vitamin and mineral levels (including selenium etc.), but have been a bit frustrated as there doesn't seem to be any remotely affordable way to do it privately. Medichecks offers an advanced vitamins and minerals check, but it only includes A, B1, B2, B6, B12, D, E, beta carotene and red cell folate for a whopping 799 pounds?! If I also want to test selenium, B3, B5, calcium, selenium, and vitamin k, I'd need to pay over 100 pounds for each with the exception of calcium that was only 59 pounds.
Blue Horizon and all the other labs have a similar lay out and pricing so it seems as though only billionaires can get a truly comprehensive view of their vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
I did find one company that tests 25 vitamins and minerals as well as fatty acids for 120 pounds, but I kind of doubt it provides any "real" results because it said "employs Bioresonance technology to analyze a dry DNA blood sample" and mentioned "evaluating the body's energetic alignments" and other similar wording (that at least to me) sounds kind of flakey.
Has anyone found a company that does truly comprehensive vitamin and mineral testing? I don't know if there's something I'm missing about why it's so expensive and difficult to find.

Firstly, to run so many tests is going to be expensive.
I did this test with a nutritionist, theres a sample report that shows whats tested and I found it very useful along with the guidance of the nutritionist. The test wasnt cheap though I think about £400 + nutritionist fees.
Super! Thank you! 400 pounds sounds more reasonable. Yes, I'm worried I have low levels of other vitamins and minerals as I had sepsis several times this year and was on IV antibiotics. A lot of the serious side effects from antibiotics are a result of nutritional deficiencies since it's our good bacteria that actually creates vitamins and minerals (or creates the environment that makes it possible). So yes, I'm definitely worried that I have various nutritional deficiencies.
The test I did was a urine analysis + blood spot for the fatty acids.
You may well need a nutritionist to run that test but do your homework first to ensure you pickone that will do what you want. Many nutritionists offer a 10 minute phone call free to assess if they are right for you.
I think TiggerMe did one on her own without a practitioner.
Be very wary of the testing methods some of these companies offer, as a lot are scientifically unproven. Bioresonance is being used for many diverse applications these days, which range from smoking cessation, allergies, stomach pain, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer to fibromyalgia!
The claims they make are based on very small, selected studies, most often with no placebo control, and are scientifically unsound. Whenever I see dubious claims and statements like this I get really riled up and annoyed, as it preys on people who are unwell and just want to find a solution to their problems. Instead, they get taken in with some scientific mumbo jumbo and have to part with lots of money, only to find that it does not help them at all and that it was all a con.
I have even taken the trouble to write to trading standards and the advertising standards agency and told them about some of these companies making false claims (e.g., food intolerance testing). Sadly, even if one company shuts down, they can open under a different name and continue to con people. Its really bad.
Very good point, Tina_Maria 😢 All the talk of energy tipped me off too. They see a gap in conventional labs and exploit people. Thank you for replying!
