Hey there again :

So on your last post we have you taking 150 mcg T4 -

and we knew you would be getting a dose reduction as your last result had an over range T4 -

when on 150 mcg T4 :

Are we missing an interim blood test at 125 mcg T4 daily ?

Are these results are on 100 mcg T4 ?

Did you first try 125 mcg - have I missed a post ?

Previous results - T4 @ 25.9 and 139% with a T3 @ 4.70 and 43% - through ranges :

Current results - T4 @16.10 and 41% with a T3 @ 3.40 and 8.10% - through ranges -

How are you feeling now -

as these readings show a big drop in both T3 and T4 results and with a TSH over 5 -

your body is shouting out for more thyroid hormone replacement ?

Please check and advise if I'm wrong - as I've written this believing it is the same ranges :

No missed post. I was supposed to b on 125mg but cudnt get 25mg pills. Tried cutting 50mg but ended in a mess so just took 100mg. Told endo what I'd done so yes this blood result is for 100mg levothyroxine

Yes same ranges.

Oh dear u cud b right. I've got the 25mg pills now and endo said stay as I am (ie on 100mg) till next blood test but mite need to go to 125mg levo at next review.

Tbh I feel really well but my hair isn't as thick just now so that's a concern.

Taking vitD with K2 plus b complex and separate B12.

I saw the tsh was high but I didn't know what it meant but I do now thank u pennyannie.

Next appoint with endo to discuss blood results 26th Nov. If she advises 125mg then I'll 💯 make sure I get the 25mg (I was a bit too relaxed about it previously)

I do feel much better than before operation tho so I'm v sure endo lady is sympathetic to me being a bit (thinking I know best attitude) which I now realise isn't the right attitude with thyroid (it's all about results n ranges)

I hope I'm not a difficult patient but I will do as she says at next appointment. I'll b back soon after 26th.

To all those people facing total thyroidectomy. I was scared but I am so glad I had it done and many thanx to the team of professionals who looked after me.

Onwards......

Happy Halloween 🎃 xxxx

Can I please suggest you speak to your ' endo lady ' or doctor immediately get your dose of T4 - Levothyroxine reinstated back up to 125 mcg T4 -

and also ask that your ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D be run - and share the results with forum members here - so to advise on supplements, if needed.

Your body can't function nor metabolise on such a low T3 result - please look at your results again and understand what has happened being on too low a dose of T4.

In the first blood test your T3 was 43% and now it is just 8% - and we need to be aiming for around 70%

You will become increasingly hypothyroid if you stay on 100 mcg -

and with this slowed metabolism you risk your core strength building blocks of ferritin folate, B12 and vitamin D falling through their ranges which will compound your health negatively in the not too distant future.

Thank you for your wishes - but my trick and treat would be to read you are back on T4 x 125 mcg daily - and are having your core strength vitamins and minerals run :

Good morning pennyannieI'm staying on 125mg levothyroxine till my next blood test/appointment with endo nurse on 4th Feb 2025

Last results from 15th Nov.

TSH 1.36 (0.3-5.5)

T4 25.0 (12.0-22.0)

T3 4.4 (3.1-6.8)

The TSH is looking much better but the T4 is a little high.

I'm hoping now for a period of stability and see what results are in February.

I feel nice and relaxed atm and getting better as time goes on.

Best wishes

Hello again :

A new set of results deserves more than my 1 pair of eyes - and it is in your best interest to start a new post with this new information so all forum members can read, help and support you :

I'm glad you feel nice and relaxed but it looks as though you are not converting the T4 into T3 :

Your T4 is over range at around 130% with your T3 at around 35% through its range -

the T4 needs to be in the range -

and we generally feel best when the T4 is around 80% through its range with the T3 tracking just behind at around 70% -

or - to put another way - once your T4 is up in the top quadrant of the range - your T3/T4 ratio needs to be at around 1/4 -

and currently your T3/T4 ratio is running very wide at around 5.70 -

with too little T3 and too much T4 circulating in your blood stream.

Did you also get run the co-factors of ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D -

as no thyroid hormone replacement works well if these core strength vitamins and minerals are not maintained at optimal levels ?

I now aim to maintain my ferritin at around 100 - folate at around 20 - active B12 - 125 ( serum B12 500++) and vitamin D ar around 125.

Please start a new post and let's see what everybody else thinks - I may well have missed something !!
