has anyone switched from levo and lio to NDT? I got diagnosed with Hashimoto’s last March and still feel like shite despite doing all the recommended supplementation and T4/T3 by private endocrinologist. He puts all the remaining fatigue, muscle aches, headaches etc. etc. down to long Covid. But I can’t just give up. I’ve seen you can get it via Roseway Labs, where I get my T3 from, so may book a prescriber appt with them. Anyone sourced NDT through them?

He’s happy with B12 and folate (I supplement with Thorne Basic B Complex) and still wants me to get Vit D and ferritin up. I’m on 4000 D3 as instructed and now switched to Three Arrows Heme iron, so will keep going to get those levels up.

TSH: 1.69 (0.27-4.2)

T4: 18.1 (12-22)

T3: 5.7 (3.1-6.8)

Vit D: 94 (50-200)

Ferritin: 40 (13-150)

Free T4 (fT4) 18.1 pmol/L (12 - 22) 61.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 5.7 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 70.3%

How much Levo & T3 are you taking?

Your TSH is too high. On anything with T3 it should be below range or even suppressed when optimally replaced.

Your FT4 looks on the low side.

What time of day did you take the test and when was your last dose of Levo & T3 before the test?

You probably just need a little more of what you are already taking rather than messing around with NDT. NDT is expensive and not always better than combination treatment.

The endocrinologist instructed me to take my T4 and T3 4 hours before the blood draw at 9am (I’ve never heard of this method before but he comes highly recommended in London 🤷‍♀️) . I’m on 100 T4 and now 10 T3 (I was on 5 at the time of those results and he’s told me to up it to 10)

Some Endo's do like to see the peak of T3 but I dont understand seeing the Levo peak.

So really these are false high results and you probably need more Levo & T3. Either way you're not optimally replaced on what you're currently taking so leaping over to NDT would be a shame at this point.

If this Endo is insisting your TSH stays within range you probably need to find a new one regardless of high recommendation.

I always ask: highly recommended by whom? Because that can make a big difference. Highly recommended by other doctors probably means he toes the party line. Highly recommended by other patients who know about thyroid and whom he has made well, is what you want.

What a good job ( for doctors) that conditions like LC, Fibro and CFS exist, otherwise what would doctors blame their still unwell patient's symptoms on. I mean it couldn't possibly be not enough thyroid hormone or not enough of the right combination.

Yes its a very good job they can point the finger at something other than their own incompetence or lack of knowledge.

Honestly I’m so done. Covid and pregnancy has ruined my life - I’m left with thyroid problems, PoTS, MCAS, interstitial cystitis, endometriosis. Every day feels like I’ve been hit my a bus but I have a toddler to look after
