Feeling a bit depressed again with these results......

Just had some bloods done this morning, feeling exhausted this week, no energy, falling asleep all the time despite being on steroids for adrenal insufficiency, feeling a bit nauseous, headachey all week.

It seems like all that's changed in 6 months is that my cortisol is lower, my TSH is higher (was 2.2 I think in January) and my T3 and T4 are the same.

My FSH keeps lowering even though I'm 43, I can't read my LH properly.

So I'm taking steroids for AI and I felt alot better at first but now I'm starting to get my old symptoms back again.

What on earth do I do?

The doctors seem a bit lost to be honest.

MRI scan with contrast?

Am lost.

I know the vitamin D is shit, am taking vitamin D spray every day, doesn't seem to be making a difference.

Test results in comments.

Am I stuck like this?

Well, those 'test results' are much use because there's no range. But your FT3 looks as if it could be very low. So, not surprising you're not feeling good. What are you taking, and how much?

Are you taking magnesium with your vit D? It won't do much for you if you don't because the two work together.

Ah I'm sorry, I didn't realise they didn't have reference ranges on them when I posted them. I'm too exhausted to write them out at the moment but will later.

Endo has said I'm subclinical hypothyroid but can't start me on any meds until they know what's happening with my cortisol.

FSH is getting lower and lower, vit D getting lower, cortisol getting lower, TSH getting higher (2.2 last time), T3 and T4 staying stable. T3 always at bottom of range which I think is 3.1 - 6.8 off the top of my head.

Yes, possibly is 3.1-6.8 - it very often is. So, you can see your FT3 is very low. And it's low T3 that causes symptoms.

Endos say a lot of things that aren't necessarily true. With an FT3 level that low your are not subclinical, you are hypo. But, I expect he's only looking at the TSH.

Get some rest and come back when you're feeling a bit stronger - we'll all still be here! :)

I know you have rejoined the forum Lucy__, but it would be really helpful if you could update your profile to remind us of your thyroid journey so far…. ie previous thyroid test results/ medication etc

No worries at all Lucy. Take time to rest and look after yourself 🦋

I could be way off but i think TSH can raise with adrenal insufficiency? really hope you start to feel better sion it is really hard when you feel so unwell. I get times when i am just crashing and its not very nice. Do you get any orthostatic intolerance? x

Not what you're looking for?
