Sorry it has been years since able to get on my technology. Finally feeling better.

These are my latest results any suggestions. Currently taking Tirosint 75mcg.

May 15,2024

TSH 3rd generation 1.710

(.4-4.5 uIU/ML)

T3 Reverse. 16.5

(9.0-27.0mg/dl)

T3 Free 2.40

(2.40-6.80 pg/ml)

T3 Free 2.40

(.58-1.64ng/dl)

I had been feeling terrible from having Covid about a year ago. Finally getting better. 2 months ago switched to Tirosint from Synthroid. Have tried NDT and also adding t3 over the years but became hyperthyroid with double vision.

Looks to me that I’m not converting T4 to T3. Finally able to start to read and think straight again. Please any suggestions. Thank you.

Have you typed all those out correctly as it seems you have 2 results for FT3 and none for FT4.

Your TSH is over 1 so most likely you have room for a dose increase. You can aim for a TSH under 1 where most people feel well.

Your FT3 does look very low.

We also need all key vitamins at OPTIMAL levels.

Do you have results for ferritin, folate, B12 & D3?

What are you supplementing with?

sorry I have corrected the results Thank you for responding so quickly. I have not had any recent other tests done I will be getting some done in July . I am also not taking any supplements currently but will start again . The last vit d3 lab result was in the 40s .I have a prescription for Tirosint 88mcg but did not want to take without some advice. Thank you.

Can I also check at what time of day was this test ?

How many hours before did you last take Levo?

Your FT4 is at 68% of its range so plenty of room for a small increase.

Can you get your doctor to test all your vitamins? Hypo people get low vitamin levels due to low stomach acid which means they cannot absorb vitamins well from their food.

We need OPTIMAL vitamin levels for our thyroid hormone to work well.

Your FT3 is very low and likely you don't convert well.

To be able to tolerate T3 well, getting vitamins to optimal is essential. That may well be why it didnt work well for you before.

My testing was done at 6:30 am before eating. The last Tirosint medication was taken 24 hrs before. I will follow up with my doctor about vitamin testing. Yes, that is what I’m worried about even if I increase the milligrams of Tirosint it may not do anything if I’m not converting T4 to T3. I am wondering if I should just try adding the supplements first.

I did add some progesterone oil that was recommended by Forefront Health. They also have other supplement pkg they recommend for hypothyroid hashimoto.

Thank you very much!

So you've tested correctly to see stable blood levels which is good.

I just looked at the supplements that you mentioned. They look very expensive ($163) and their B complex doesn't even contain B12 or folate.

Once you've tested your levels you will likely need a full spectrum, high dose B complex plus vit D3 & K2 that you know how much you're taking. These would be a lot cheaper than the supplement you mentioned.

I'd suggest going ahead with the small Levo increase which might help a little while you raise vitamin levels.

Hypo people need to constantly suppelement vitamin levels because the moment they stop supplementing their levels drop.

Thank you very much for checking on those supplements!!! I had been getting mine from Dr Mercola Not sure if you know of him but I think they are better.

I will start my supplements again and pick up my 88mcg Tirosint. Then retest my levels in 6 weeks. When I return to my doctor in July I will ask for vitamin lab work also. I appreciate your help so much.

Dr Mercola provides such good research info. Get his emails here in UK. Trust you improve soon esp when you get your vitamins+minerals optimal; makes such a difference. Do let us know how you get on. We have great cheerleaders here!

Mercola is one of the biggest salesmen of supplements and similar. Everything he does is directed towards encouraging people to buy his products.

I don't buy his products but do look at his research or researchers he has pointed to on a topic I am interested in. Then it's a case of, who do you believe?!

I did used to look from time to time.

At one point some things he said were interesting. Then I became tired of the rehashes with little of interest appearing and, when it was something I did know about, not always accurate.

So he went in the same trash can as many others.

(I replied to Thyroid66 because I saw you did not say you bought his products.)

It is very important to use products you trust and believe in to work. We must do the best research we can to find out. I respect others experiences with products they have used to improve their health. Also you have to be careful as some well known brands which were very good in past have been bought out and changed.

I wonder sometimes if these supplements are doing anything. They go in your mouth and just wash right thru your system without any benefits. The only one benefitting is the one selling it!! Especially those sold in the grocery stores! Yes they are cheaper but….if you feel better good!! So probably best if you can get your levels tested and you will see.

Dont buy his products+open up his email if I think I may be interested in the content. My husband is more interested in his research (as well as others) that help him stay healthy+improve immunity! I have to say that during the cover debacle, it was the USA who provided more assistance re staying well. As a couple of oldies we need all the help we can get to stay ahead of the game!! As our NHS. is so limited +limiting we get help wherever we can! For example, in Oct 2022 had DEXA scan (NHS Endo) +it took my new Endo 15 months later to let me know I had osteopenia (-1.3+-1.9). Neither NHS Endo or GP highlighted that. So now looking into exercises to strengthen my bones apart from my regular walking routine. If only the NHS would up it's game!
