T4 15.5 (12 - 22) 35.00%

T3 5.4 (3.1 - 6.8) 62.16%

Optimum is not a number, it's how you feel. If you feel well on that dose, with those results, then they're probably optimum for you. However, if you don't, there is room for an increase. :)

Hello Harriet :

2 years ago you were taking 3 grains of Thyroid S and with a much higher T3 and said you were feeling much better :

Are you trying to get back to 3 grains but can't seem to tolerate raising your dose any longer ?

There have been some issues with some people not able to tolerate some batch numbers ?

There are no ferritin nor folate readings here and think your vitamin D and B12 need a little more support.

I now aim for ferritin at around 100 - folate 20 - active B12 125 ( serum B12 500++ ) and vitamin D up at around 125.

Both your T3 and T4 are well in range - and as expected your TSH low and under the range.

There is room to continue to build up this dose - are you feeling any relief of any symptoms ?

I am still on 3 grains of Thyroid S now.

Ferritin is 119 (30-169)

Would you recommend further supplementation on B12 and Vit D?

Oh sorry - I misread 2 grains - 1 am and 1 pm : silly me :

Apologies - well looking back your T3 was just tipping over the top of the range 2 years ago - and more like my results were then, too .

Yes I would recommend building up both B12 and vitamin D a little now :

How are you feeling ?

Check out your batch number - I've had 2 batches I couldn't tolerate last year and since a horrible bug this last Christmas / New Year my existing batch now seems a little too strong !!

Check the batch number on the Thyroid-S on helvella blog. The strength can vary. I take the same as you, and occasionally have to fiddle with the dose. You can also add a smidge of Levo to see if that hits your sweet spot.
