Free T4 (fT4) 17 pmol/L (12 - 22) 50.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 4.2 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 29.7%

Assuming tested early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Results show you need dose increase in Levo

Request/politely insist on “trial “ increase to 112.5mcg daily

Which brand of Levo are you taking for 100mcg

How much do you weigh in kilo

If GP refuses to increase see endocrinologist

Here’s link for how to request Thyroid U.K.list of private Doctors emailed to you, but within the email a link to download list of recommended thyroid specialist endocrinologists who will increase levothyroxine or prescribe T3 alongside levothyroxine

Ideally choose an endocrinologist to see privately initially and who also does NHS consultations

Exactly what vitamin supplements are you taking

Blood test took 9 am, no levo for 24 hours.Levo brand is accord

I take B complex every other day, folate on the days I don't take B complex, I use a magnesium spray, take vitamin D, and evening primrose oil.

Weight is about 80kg (gained over a stone in 12 months)

So in definite need of dose increase in levothyroxine

Folate is low in results. Did you take daily separate folate up to the day before test

Yes, when I stopped B complex a week before the test I then took the folate every day.

Folate

SlowDragonAdministrator in reply to Dawney63

That’s astonishing, because your folate result is still low

Being on inadequate dose levothyroxine won’t be helping…..results in low stomach acid and poor Nutrient absorption

I am seeing a gastronologist consultant on 8th May because of reflux and gallbladder issues can that be related to thyroid issues?

Yes definitely

Being hypothyroid frequently causes LOW stomach acid and acid reflux

Frequently misdiagnosed as high stomach acid

Mainstream medicine still can be reluctant to acknowledge low stomach acid can be an issue
