Without an FT3 result its really hard to say if she is optimaly treated.
Her FT4 is 73% of its range. Did she remember not to take her Levo just before the test, allowing 24 hours to show stable blood levels?
What time of day was this test taken?
Her vit D could be higher.
What supplements are you taking?
Vitamin D should be around 100 - 150. Buy one that includes vit K2 to help it go to your bones. Some are available in oil or you can take it with an oily meal for better absorption. Many members like the ‘Better You’ range of mouth sprays that contain both bit D & K2. Use this calculator to work out how much to take to get your level to 100-150. wildatlantichealth.com/vita...
Folate, ferritin & B12 are good.
I'd recommend getting a private test to be able to see her FT3. see link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...
There is also a new company offering walk in (includes free blood draw) & mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...
Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.
Recommended blood test protocol: Test at 9am (or as close as possible), fasting, last levo dose 24hrs before the blood draw & no biotin containing supplements for 3-7 days (Biotin can interfere with thyroid blood results as it is used in the testing process)? Testing like this gives consistency in your results and will show stable blood levels of hormone and highest TSH which varies throughout the day. Taking Levo just prior to blood draw can show a falsely elevated result and your GP/Endo might change your dose incorrectly as a result.
Thanks so much. I'll ask her all of this and report back. I have given her the instructions for doing her test but she doesn't always remember. I think I'll get her a private test done because they don't ever do her T3 (I was very lucky last time and my GP did mine, but he is very helpful). Her full blood results also indicate she is pre-diabetic. It's crazy that her GP has said nothing and that I have to analyse her results for her. Or I come on here and very kind people help me!
If she has high cholesterol she probably has low FT3. So, as her FT4 is quite good, I'm guessing that she's a poor converter. But, she needs a complete thyroid panel to find out.
