Hi. Had advanced thyroid check this past week. Results as follows:-

CRP HS 14.2 Range <3

Ferritin 121. 30-650

Serum folate 33.2 >7

Active B12 130 37.5 - 188

Vitamin D 69.4 50-250

TSH 0.144 0.27-4.2

T3 4.8 3.1-6.8

T4 12.6 12-22

No signs of a hashi flare as both autoimmunity readings well within range.

I have been very unwell over Christmas with lots of different symptoms going on including palpitations, rib pain, shoulder aches, random shooting pains in every part of my body. I know that the doctor is going to say I'm over treating my thyroid as he will go by the TSH.

Do my results imply that I have a pituitary problem as I would have expected my T3/T4 to be higher with such a low TSH?

I'm taking 1 3/4 thyroid S a day.

Unfortunately I have lots wrong with me, not just my thyroid.

Any replies gratefully received. Catlover 3

Your free's are on the low side (though I've no experience of NDT) had you tried higher doses?... the only other thing I'd draw attention to is your Vit D which could do with being 100-150 🤗

Thanks for your reply. I have been lax about taking my D3/K2 spray and was surprised at how much it has dropped. Normally I keep it around the 130 mark so I will have to make sure I remember to take it every day.

I have taken Thyroid s for years and I think that you require and increase. Try 1/4 to start with.

I have felt well with the FT4 nearer the top of the range also the FT3 at around 6.

The pains are usually a sign of low FT3 which should resolve when increasing the dose.

Thanks for your reply. I have never been able to get my T4 higher than 13 whilst taking NDT even though my tsh would be almost unreadable. I can't add any t4 as it sent me to A&E with horrendously high heart rate, so am too scared to try again as I have damage to my heart already. I need to find out what's causing the high inflammation so hopefully the Dr will do more blood tests too.

No, I wouldn't think you have a pituitary problem. Your TSH is low because of the T3 in the NDT. The pituitary just considers that you don't need TSH any more.

Does your doctor know you're taking NDT? If so, he should know that it reduces TSH.

Are you taking magnesium with your vit D/K2?

Hi. Thanks for your reply. My Dr knows I take ndt but hasn't a clue about what it actually is. I use a magnesium spray every day, don't take any orally.
