Hey all,I was wondering if anyone experienced thyroid overmedication symptoms after iron IV?
It's day 3 today, I have much better energy, but also feel jittery and hot at times.
I assume iron is making the cellular absorption better and increases conversion.
I'll probably do another ft4 ft3 test soon just to compare. I have read that ferritin peaks 7-9 days after infusion, so probably would be wise to keep the same dose for now?
Thank you!

Depending on how much iron was infused etc. it can take quite a few weeks if not months to truly settle blood work wise. I had a ferritin test run I think 6 weeks after my infusion and my ferritin was still sky high.
Don't change anything based on side effects from an iron infusion. It may be a passing phase anyway as your body gets used to better iron stores.
Retest thyroid after 6-8 weeks if you think your levels might have changed.
I had 500 of Monover, my hematologist said I might need it every 3 months, but we will need to check bloods closer to the time. There was another woman there who needs them every 6 months.
Wow, maybe it will last longer for me, do you remember what your ferritin was at 6 weeks? I was told ferritin will peak after a week and will be way over range.
It's now day 3, still getting some light side effects, currently back pain.
No worries at all,you can have a look at my newest post. I don't regret getting the infusion, but I had the anaphylactic shock shortly after starting it. The hydrocortisone injection helped as I couldn't breathe and my chest got tight. The nurse was great and prompt.
My levels yoyo'd after, I felt great next day and then overdosed, checked my levels this morning, my ft3 went up by 20% (in 4 days!). It could be a coincidence, not sure, but I'm slightly lowering my dose, I ended in ED with tachycardia and tremors on Wednesday. Again this could be a mix of steroids, iron IV and thyroid meds.
I hope this somehow helps! Iron infusion is helpful, but there could be side effects. No one told me what to expect from it so it was a bit of a shock.
