Did you leave 24hours beteen your last dose of Levo & this blood test?

What time of day was it taken? Highest tSH is at 9am or earlier.

How are you?

You seem to be a poor converter with your FT3 at only 10% of its range. It would be better above 50% and higher.

You can email info@thyroiduk.org for a list of T3 friendly Endo's.

I think you have been treated with folic acid before for low folate. Its likely that you will need a folate supplement to continue that once you finish folic acid from the GP. Your folate is too low now.

Your ferritin is over range. This could be due to inflammation, have you discussed this with your GP?

Your B12 should be higher to bring it up to optimal. I'd suggest a good methyl/active type B complex to help keep all the B's in balance and working well. This B complex has all the right vitamins at a not unreasonable cost for 90 days supply. amazon.co.uk/Liposomal-Soft...

No vit D result.

Yes followed all the rules for taking meds , took them when I got home.

Test at 8:40 am.

I was actually pleased with my B12 as it’s more than doubled since last test and I do supplement.

Yes the folate is low again, I noticed that.

It was the thyroid results I was concerned about.

Thank you

How old are you

Ferritin over 400

Get GP to do full iron panel test to check for hemochromatosis (too much iron)

Ferritin can be high due to inflammation

Have you had CRP test

Post re Inflammation affecting ferritin

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

If over 60

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

We have received further information the lab about ferritin reference ranges. They confirm that they are sex dependent up to the age of 60, then beyond the age of 60 the reference range is the same for both sexes:

Males 16-60: 30-400 ug/L

Female's: 16-60: 30-150

Both >60: 30-650

The lower limit of 30 ug/L is in accordance with the updated NICE guidance and the upper limits are in accordance with guidance from the Association of Clinical Biochemists. ‘

I’m 64, I stopped my b supplement four weeks before my bloods , I did take a b12 supplement then dropped to just B. Tests were done due to other health issues.

I have also just had covid, followed by a upper respiratory virus, so pretty run down. What’s the CRP test?

Thank you

CRP is test for inflammation. May be still high after Covid

You only need to stop vitamin B complex a week before test and during that week, take a daily folate and restart daily B12 just for that week too

How much vitamin D are you taking

Improving low B12 and extremely low Folate should help improve conversion rate of Ft4 to Ft3

Initially you will need separate B12 as well as daily vitamin B complex

Start B12 now

And add vitamin B complex when you finish folic acid prescription from GP

Low B12 symptoms

b12deficiency.info/signs-an...

methyl-life.com/blogs/defic...

With serum B12 result below 500, (Or active B12 below 70) recommended to be taking a separate B12 supplement and a separate vitamin B Complex

Then once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), you may be able to reduce then stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.

If Vegetarian or vegan likely to need ongoing separate B12 few times a week

B12 drops

Or

B12 sublingual lozenges

uk.iherb.com/pr/jarrow-form...

cytoplan.co.uk/shop-by-prod...

B12 range in U.K. is too wide

Interesting that in this research B12 below 400 is considered inadequate

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Low folate

supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid)

This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help maintain B12 levels too

Difference between folate and folic acid

healthline.com/nutrition/fo...

Many Hashimoto’s patients have MTHFR gene variation and can have trouble processing folic acid.

thyroidpharmacist.com/artic...

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Thorne Basic B recommended vitamin B complex that contains folate, but they are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule)

Thorne currently difficult to find at reasonable price, should be around £20-£25. iherb.com often have in stock. Or try ebay

Other options

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu....

Igennus B complex popular option too. Nice small tablets. Most people only find they need one per day. But a few people find it’s not high enough dose

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

endo.confex.com/endo/2016en...

endocrinenews.endocrine.org...

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12 until B12 over 500

Test twice yearly via NHS private testing service when supplementing
