Margo,

Results are looking slightly high. How are you feeling?

Margo in reply toradd

Thanks Radd. I never feel 100%, start off ok in the morning and then the afternoon a huge slump. I take 1 x Thyroid S around 7 a.m. and the other around 11 a.m./12 p.m. (off for a lie down now....)

Margo,

Some say NDT should be medicated by symptoms but if these were my results I would reduce dose by 1/4 grain, and change the split to 1 grain at 7am and 3/4 grain at 3pm to try avoiding that afternoon slump. Also you know about how important the cofactors are such as iron and vits, so could ensure they are remaining optimal.

Thank you so much Radd, I agree and will give it a go. Will also ask the G.P. to check my iron and vits too.

Did you manage to test B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD ? Low in range results can affect heart performance/blood pressure. Have been reading your latest post !

Low iron = low oxygen = increased heart rate to improveb oxygen levels 🌻

Margo in reply toMarz

Thank you Marz. B12 always high, injections every month. I struggle with ferritin, I take iron, what you have written, makes sense. No result for folate, D3 = 90. But will look into these. Thanks again.

Oxygen travels around the body by adhering to iron within the red blood cells. So if iron is low then there will be less oxygen. The heart senses this and beats faster hoping to create more oxygen - clever stuff !

B12 works with Folate in the body so you will need good folate levels, with having B12 injections.

How long have you been taking iron ? Important to test regularly I have read. Do you take a B Complex ?

Hope you feel better soon. 🌻

Margo in reply toMarz

YES I take a good B Complex as recommended by Seaside Susie. Been taking iron for years, but not tested, will ask for blood test and for folate. Thank you so much.

I know how well informed you are from reading your posts over the years ! Hope you can get an Iron Profile done. Am sure Folate will be fine as you are taking a good B Complex....

Thank you Marz, problem is I don’t remember all the good information I have accrued…

I was taking Solgar Iron which seemed to agree with me, but was alarmed to read an article by Dr Mercola saying that iron rusts the brain. Have now moved onto Blackstrap molasses.

That sounds good ! Perhaps lots of VitC will improve iron absorption - and stop the rust 😂

Giving it a go Marz, always take plenty of Vitamin C, can’t afford to rust the grey stuff.

what are your most recent vitamin results

Vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Are you on dairy free/gluten free diet?

Margo profile image
Margo in reply toSlowDragon

Good question, I am going to ask tomorrow for blood tests for vitamins/iron. Not always gluten and dairy free, I know it could make a difference. Thank you

Gluten free needs to be absolutely strictly gluten free to be effective

Similarly few months later consider trying dairy free too. Approx 50-60% find dairy free beneficial

Post discussing gluten

No, not dairy free, gluen free a bit hit and miss. Clearly I need to shape up with all of this. Thank you

Finally after 8 years I got my T3 prescribed 💃but now another battle with pharmacist to get same brand each time 🤦‍♀️Doing good hormone wise for once and finally losing a little weight which is miracle for me. Just memory issues letting me down otherwise I'd be cooking with gas 😂

I took 2.25 grains for years and felt super well. 1.25 at around 6.30am. The other 1 after lunch . With each batch mine varied just slightly sometimes just over range, I still felt well.

I think that you are taking them too close together, maybe..

What are you taking? Yes you may be right,. The results were very high considering I hadn't had any medication for 24 hours. When I saw the results it freaked me out, bit concerned about my bones.

Today I haven't taken anything and will take just 1grain this afternoon, and then continue as Radd has suggested.

Thank you for your input, every little helps as they say.

Hi Margo. If u didnt take anything for 24 hrs and u are over range u are overmedicating and that may be why u get that slump. I take 1 1/2 thyroid s and sometimes feel its too strong. Whats your batch ? Im taking ta22057 , green pills. On the beige ones I needed 2 1/2.

Margo profile image
Margo in reply tomintgreenish

Thanks I tend to agree with you, I am on Batch TA21089 which are the beige pills. If I was to take 2 1/2 my head would probably explode in to the stratosphere....!!!
