Just received my latest blood results from MMH. I would be grateful if you knowledgeable people could give them the once over please. Have GP appt on Monday to try to get an increase in dose of levo. Bloods taken as per protocol. On 75mcg (50mcg Accord and 25mcg Wockhardt) Am splitting dose 50mcg morning and 25mcg before bed. Hopefully GP will increase by another 12.5mcg. Take Thorne Basic B Complex (stopped for 7 days) and Nature Provide Vit D+K2MK7 as liquid.

Vit D 99mmol (was 93 on 25/7) so improving nicely.

FT3 3.8pmol/L (3.1-6.8) according to my maths 18.9% through range. Was 4.1 on 25/7, so has dropped.

FT4 20.3pmol/L (12-22) 83% through range. Was 17.3 on 25/7, so has gone up. Which I presume would be correct with dose increase?

TSH 2.3mu/L (0.27-4.3) was 3.77 on 25/7, so has dropped as expected?

GP did TSH on 10/10 when it was 2.1mu/L (0.3-4.2). As she is only interested in TSH level I think I should have some wriggle room for an increase.

So if I do get an increase this time, are my FT4s likely to go above the range and she could veto any further increase. According to GP if TSH is getting low then the labs sometimes do check FT4.

I'm waiting for my Dio2 results from Regenertist which should hopefully be back this week (really hope before GP appt Monday morning)

Active B12 above 300. Folate was 15.4ug/L on 17/8. Ferritin has dropped to 48ug/L from 59 (13-150) despite having liver once a week. Am going to get some pumpkin seeds tomorrow as per Seaside Susie and Buddy195 ;-)

I dont think my conversion rate is very good? Just to wish everyone a peaceful niight, once again thanks in anticipation.

Hello Auders :

The accepted conversion ratio when taking T4 only is said to be 1 / 3.50 - 4.50 - T3/T4 with most people feeling at their best when they come in this range at 4 or under.

So to find how well you are converting you simply divide your Free T3 into your Free T4 and I'm getting yours coming in at 5.34 so as you suspected you are not converting the T4 into T3well and quite wide of centre.

Your T4 is already at a good high level and although this has lowered your TSH but has not increased T3 which is the most important and a further increase in T4 may not be the answer at this point in time.

Your vitamins and minerals need to be built up and maintained at optimal and then you may well find your T4 drop a little and your T3 increase a little and thereby being a better ratio and balance between these two vital hormones.

Everywhere I researched suggested ferritin needed to be at least at 70 for any thyroid hormone replacement to work well and I now aim to maintain my ferritin at around 100 with a folate at around 20 and an active B12 at 75 ++ ( serum B12 500++ ) and a vitamin D at around 100.

Have you tried Asda frozen chicken livers x 1 tub a week ?

They are clean and mild - defrost and flash fry down in a little olive oil and then whizz into a pate and store in the fridge in an old jam jar - and I find a spoonful a day with a dollop of Hellman's help this medicine go down, and keep me topped up.

I started off eating liver twice a week, plus tablets and Spatone but my ferritin was down at 22 - but your level has dropped and maybe need something more than liver once a week.

Do you know if you are also dealing with low stomach acid as I think this pate maybe more easily absorbed ?

thank you so much for the reply. I’m off shopping later so I’ll try the chicken livers. I know my vitamins are a work in progress, only read about the importance since joining the forum. I have some Active Iron tablets that I’ve just taken with some vitamin C drops. I just wasn’t expecting a drop in ferritin, I was low in folate earlier on this year but the Thornes have worked well fortunately. I know the GP will dose only on the TSH this time, maybe time to think about private endo in the not too distant future. Never realised just how bad the NHS has become. Again many thanks for the info. Chicken livers added to my list with the pumpkin seeds! 😋 🙏
