I’m a little confused about my private results I’ have got back today, any advice would be appreciated especially this time of the year.
TSH 8.89 (0.27-4.2 mU/L)
FT4 17.3 (12 -22pmol/L
FT3 - 4 (3.1-6.8pmol/L)
Although T4 & T3 are within range why is my TSH high?
My August results no T3 done
T4 22.3 pmol/L (12.0-22)
TSH 0.76mu/L (0.3-4.2)
I had short synachten test in August never got the results and then had another on Monday this week reason being I was just above basal level 450 and they wanted to check results again which I’m still waiting for.
Thank you

Are you still taking 100mcg levothyroxine every day and always same brand levothyroxine at each prescription
Presumably you have autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto’s diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies?
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested
Was test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test on both tests
Thank you for replying, still taking 100 mcg same brand of levothyroxineWas diagnosed Primary Hypothyroidism ,thyroid peroxidase 213 (0.34) January this year.
Currently taking Vitamin and within range, started to take advanced probiotic over the last three weeks.
Private blood test done at 6am, but took levothyroxine 12 hours before test.
Synachten test done at 2pm afternoon on an empty stomach.
That’s makes sense why levels can change, my latest Vit D is 68 nmol/LUnfortunately I just got told folate, ferritin and B12 were in range but that was August.
I’m waiting for the hospital thyroid results now, that was done the same time as the Synachten test, therefore that would make it about 20 hours from last dose of levothyroxine.
I’m currently taking Vitabiotics 2000IU Vitamin D increased from 1000—2000 a week ago, but it sounds as though the vitamin D mouth spray is much better, so will order this as you say we need optimal levels of vitamins, thank you for the links these are interesting reads.
I never really considered my self having Hashimoto’s and agree levels can change.
Thank you so much for your advice it’s much appreciated
