I have just spent 2 months not taking Metformin to see the effect it had on my TSH.
My TSH on 11/05 was 1.72 as tested by my Doctors. Not the increase I was expecting if Metformin was in fact suppressing my TSH.
But I have just come back from seeing my doctor and he has agreed to increase my Levothyroxine by 25mg to 175mg per day.
He was quite open to the fact that I had joined this forum and had been doing my research. So hopefully he will not panic when he retests my TSH in 6 to 8 weeks.

Shows your under medicated and GP was correct to give 25mcg dose increase in levothyroxine 👏👏👏👏
I’m not taking Magnesium at the moment but after reading that link I’ll definitely start. I’m taking an over the counter vitamin D supplement which is 75ug.

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
