I’ve been on Levothyroxine since 2018 when TSH was over range and T4 under range. Since then my TSH has gone up to over range ( doubled dose) then it’s been going down to 2.5,1.6 and now 1. I feel I’m more hyperthyroid than hypo. My vit d and folate are average although I’ve been on daily supplements fir 12,5 years respectively. My b12 and ferritin seems low. Also ate all the other thyroid results typical of thyroid treatment or are they not as optimum as they should be. I would welcome any help as to how to make sense of these results and what to do next
Many thanks

Thriva have a very confusing way of reporting their results and it looks like you have taken the ranges from their bar graph with the coloured parts. They also have their own nonsensical interpretation of "optimal".
Please log into your Thriva account and find your pdf of results which will look like this
If you do then list them to discuss with your GP and ask for testing for B12 deficiency and Pernicious Anaemia. Do not take any B12 supplements or folic acid/folate/B Complex supplements before further testing of B12 as this will mask signs of B12 deficiency and skew results.
Ferritin 40 ug/l (30-370)
Are you male? The male range is usually 30-400. The female range is generally 13-150 or may be 15-300. Whichever it is your ferritin level is low. Ferritin is recommended to be half way through range although some experts say the optimal level for thyroid function is 90-110.
Folate 45 nmol/l (6.8-29.5 or 4.5-45.3)
The range for this used to be 8.83-60.8 so if it's still the same then your level is fine.
TSH 1.06 (0.27-4.2)
Ft4 16.5 pmol/l (12-22)
Ft3 3.6 pmol/l (3.1-6.8)
The aim of a treated Hypo patient on Levo only, generally, is for TSH to be 1 or below with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of their reference ranges.
Did you do this test as we advise, i.e. no later than 9am, nothing to eat or drink except water before the test, last dose of Levo 24 hours before the test? If so then you are undermedicated as your FT4 is only 45% through range and your FT3 is only 13.5% through range.
Tpoab 6 KIU/l (0-34)
T4 98 nmol/l (57-148)
TgAB 13.3 KU/l (0-115)
Thyroid antibodies are nice and low so don't suggest autoimmune thyroid disease, known to patients as Hashimoto's, with those lelvels. I haven't commented on Total T4 as it's not a particularly useful test, it's the FT4 which tells us what we need to know.
Vit D 125 nmol/l (50-200)
The Vit D Society and Grassroots Health recommend a level of 100-150nmol/L. Yours is nicely mid-range
Thanks for your brilliant feedback. I think from all the test results I’ve had back over the years it’s all showing the same thing. Very low or deficient results
Folate - severe deficiency
Vit d - severe deficiency
Thyroid- severe deficiency
Oestrogen- severe deficiency
Testosterone- severe deficiency
Now vit b12 and ferritin.
Also, I took a check my health test using my hair and it came back with lots of sensitivities to all breads except rye, all dairy, etc. The interesting result was I had no enzymes ( can’t remember them now but amylase was one) that showed I can’t break down fats, carbohydrates or proteins. It just all makes sense that my gut problems of absorption and my cell uptake problem are causing all my problems.
Thank goodness for your reply as I now need to buck up courage and go and see my doctor.
Kind regards and I’ll let you know how I get on. Thanks
I think I’ve replied to myself!! Can you look at the second reply to my initial question as it is to you. Also, your email encouraged me to contact the doctor who is booking some more tests and thinks supplementing with b12 should be done. Just have to wait til I next speak to the endocrinologist about my thyroid results. Thank you and I’ll text again hopefully with some answers
I’m not sure how to reply to you other than pressing the reply button which then seems to go back to me. I think I’ve tried to message you separately but not sure if that worked either. Please help!! I’m useless with technology
