GRAVES DISEASE TITRATION

Hi. Thank you for looking at my post. I have confirmed Graves. Positive TRAB, TPO and TSI. I am on PTU. No side effects from PTU. I am taking vitamin D, B12, folate, selenium, magnesium, no b complex due to bloods right now but normally I take a b complex, vitamin c, magnesium. Looking for a bit of advice on bloods and titration. Blood test was done at 8am. Fasting test with only water to drink.

TSH <0.001 always and that’s ok

T4 was 84. 4 weeks on 200mg of PTU a day it was 10. Now last two weeks on 100mg of PTU a day and T4 is 15. Range 10-22.

T3 was 46.5. 4 weeks on 200mg of PTU a day it was 12.9. Now last two weeks on 100mg a day and T3 is 15.5. Range 2.0-6.0.

Dr has asked me to take 150mg of PTU a day and retest blood in 4 weeks. The other choice was 200mg a day and retest in 2 weeks. I’m not so keen on this dose. I wonder if my T4 would go under range.

I worry my T4 will plummet under range and T3 might make range. I see my Endo on March 23. Anyone think block and replace might be the next step? Definitely don’t want to go hypo.

Worth noting is I had a concussion on 29 November. Before this concussion I slept ok even with high levels but since the accident I have insomnia. Cant work out if the insomnia is concussion or Graves.?

Thank you 😊
