many thanks for your comments on my friend's results. Here are my own, I am in the midst of changing my medication and will have a further test in a few months to see how I am getting on. In the meantime your comets would be greatly appreciated,

Thyroid Function Test

Plasma TSH level – 83mU/L (0.30-4.20)

Plasma Free T4 – 9.9 pmol/L (9.0 – 19.0)

Plasma Free T3 – 3.5 pmol/L (3 – 5.4)

Serum Ferritin – 52.4 microg/L (20 – 300)

Serum Folate – 6.5 microg/L (3.0 – 20.0)

What were you taking?

What are you changing to?

Why are you changing?

And that is a very high TSH level. Together with low FT4 and FT3, you appear very significantly under-dosed.

I finished the last dose of Thyroid S on the 9th Jan and have now moved onto Thyro Active2 - I am gradually upping the dose to approximately 2 grains (just over) but the results above were taken before I started taking it. I have a complete;y collapsed Thyroid gland (severe hypothyroidism.) I've had a hell of a time trying to get proper treatment in this country. Will finally be leaving permanently for the continent when the current crisis is over.

I forgot to add that re: Active Thyroid2 I am on the Porcine formula.
