Thyroid and Cortisol results, would appreciate any advice

I have been monitoring my Thyroid bloods since March last year and followed advice as much as able. My symptoms have improved,( particularly my joints ) enough to have more good days than bad days. I also have cortisol results which show low, around midday, and i dont seem to recover from, i just cope with the exhaustion, sweats. I did go back to my G.P. with another episode of stomach pains etc. and had the appropriate tests, plus she tested my thyroid levels. however the results will not count as i had taken my usual levo that morning. i was told it didnt matter, I do know that it does. No Results from G.P. yet but we did discuss being referred for Trial of T3. She said a definate No, as Scottish government has been asking all surgeries to get patients off T3. and made me aware some patients buy their own. I too am aware of this, but just not sure my pension will stretch. My cortisol levels were also disregarded stating NHS does not rate any other results other than from NHS source.

I am aware some of this may be true, but my symptoms tell me I have some way to to sort it all out, and to be honest dont have the energy to fight my case. so I will be grateful for any help to understand these results:-

Inflammation-4.41mg/L. below 5

Iron Status-ferritin 198ug/L 13-150

Folate serum 11.7ug/L 19 - 45

Vit B12 104pmol/L 3.89 - 189.5

Vit D 87.4

TSH 0.02 0.27 - 4.2

T3 5.39pmol/L 3.1 - 6.8

FT4 21.5pmol/L 12 - 22

Thyroglobulin 12.1 -115

Thyroid Peroxidase -9

Cortisol DHEA Ratio41.1 range 46.6 - 77.6

DHEA 60% Cortisol 40%

Cortisol 1. 8.7 3.0 - 16.0

Cortisol 2. 18.2 9.0 - 26.0

Cortisol 3. 6.7 5.0 - 19.0

Cortisol 4. 1.1 3.0 - 9.0

Cortisol 5. 0.7 0.5 - 4.0

DHEA am 0.78nmol/L 0.23 - 1.38

DHEA pm 0.52nmol/L 0.13 - 0.69

Cortisol Dailytotal 35.4 20.5 - 74.0

Cortisol DHEA Ratio41.1 range 46.6 - 77.6

I worked out from the percentages T4 is 95% and T3 61.89%, correct me if I am wrong.

To me the T3 is still some way off being in the top third range for optimum health, I am assuming the cortisol has somthin to do with it.

Iron levels seem to be over, but nothing was highlighted to me when I got phone results, apparently everything is fine, with G.P. results,.... copy has still to be collected from surgery. Not sure where to go from here, any help much appreciated. How do you sort cortisol Out ??

First step is to improve folate - currently BELOW RANGE

supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid) may be beneficial.

This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help improve B12 levels too

Difference between folate and folic acid

chriskresser.com/folate-vs-...

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Igennus Super B is good quality and cheap vitamin B complex. Contains folate. Full dose is two tablets per day. Many/most people may only need one tablet per day. Certainly only start on one per day (or even half tablet per day for first couple of weeks)

Or Thorne Basic B is another option that contain folate, but is large capsule

If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

Suggest you retest TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 6-8 weeks after adding vitamin B complex

See if Ft3 improves

People in Scotland can and do get prescribed T3

Initially you might need to see endocrinologist privately to get trial especially as your Ft3 looks pretty good ....though may be too low for you

There’s a recommended endocrinologist in Edinburgh on list from Thyroid U.K.

Email Thyroid UK for list of recommend thyroid specialist endocrinologists........NHS and Private

Ilovethesea in reply to SlowDragon

Thank-you for your reply SlowDragon, I have been taking B complex from Igennus tablet form since April last year. When i had bloods done in November, I stopped for a little longer than the recommendation only because i did a cortisol test around the same time, that may account for it being a bit lower and i,m trying to catch up. This week I have changed to an oral B complex spray, from Better You, in the hope it is better absorbed and improves my levels. Thanks again for your help
